Condos is a tricky thing for the bank to OK. It took R Hensler a while to get some of his switched to Condos and then all.

 

I am sure they have to be able to show they have to have a large number ready to buy and put non refundable earnest money down.

Thought this was cool.  On the 505 website, you can do the "360" view thing from out on the sidewalk in front of the doors on Church Street.  This is looking straight up.

I think I am starting to respect the 505CST.  This thing might show us how a "value engineered" building (we all remember Signature) can be quite elegant. I'll wait for the finished product.

True. Not really excited about this one tho, only real special thing is the height. Hate how its just a box...beating a dead horse here, but they have really added a crown. Would've put it in the 600+ ft territory and would've been the most skyline-changing thing we got since the att building.

 

It's a nice building tho. More people living downtown is great.

It will still be one of the most skyline-changing towers since the AT&T building and make our downtown skyline look less squat and flat. The Fifth + Broadway towers nearby will also help create a denser CBD with this tower at the center. Once this is built, let's hope the lack of a crown encourages some other developer to build a taller tower with a true signature feel.

The top one I did is a little "flamboyant" (taken from some building in China, I think) and wouldn't actually work with the current design...but I kinda like the one below it.

Not sure if this has been posted before or not...but it's a promotional documentrary-style video on how the 505 came to be, with historica context about downtown Nashville living, tall buildings, etc.

I enjoyed watching the documentary. I also like that Tony still has the model for Signature Tower. It would be nice if he decided to try it again one day. That empty parking lot you can see at the end of the video behind the building with the mural would be a wonderful location.

Some renderings show 505 with a tiny crown to obscure the HVAC/roof elements. How many different rendering do we have of the same building?

If they lit that little HVAC covering wall up with LED lights at night, that'd be an acceptable compromise in my book...maybe not a replacement for an actual crown...but if they have an interesting lighting scheme it would go a long way towards making a big impact on the skyline.

Crown or no crown, can we just take a second to appreciate how much better this shot of Nashville will be without Myers Flooring in the foreground. Thank God that monstrosity, especially that cringe-worthy sign, is gone. That building should have been razed ages ago.

How will you access the ground level retail on 5th?    And what is that big concrete box blocking the sidewalk?

I'm guessing the "box" is ventilation from the lower parking levels.

The whole of the ground level is retail except (obviously) the entrance and exit and stairs...

So...it's kinda "above ground level" right?  Just looking for it in that render.  I'm assuming it's the area behind glass and above the retaining wall.
