  1. Flew in late Wed night and went to retrieve the car in Economy B. It was midnight and crews were hard at work on the new Donelson exchange. Definitely working to hit that incentive.
  2. Aw man, I loved Emery. Isn’t there a new taco place going in the new development across and down the street? Plus Bartaco.
  3. I don't know if I would call the original design art deco (top rendering). It was also a rather plain box, but I liked it marginally better than the new design. The swooping arches and curves are just not my thing. When I first saw the new design my first thought was stucco (yikes!), but based on AEG's updated website, the materials appear to be brick and metal (bottom rendering). It might end up looking better when you're up close.
  4. Beautiful. We hiked around Ft. Ebey in August (and spent a night at the nearby Captain Whidbey Inn). The views from Ft. Ebey across the Sound are stunning, as your photos show. Btw, @chc3, if you haven't seen the documentary, Race to Alaska, I recommend it to you. Documents the annual 750 mile sailing race from Port Townsend (just across the water from where you took these) to Ketchikan. A fun watch and spectacular scenery.
  5. Ugh, what an unfortunate structure to put in that spot on campus. The Highlands, just across 25th where Morgan tower is seen at the far right, is next up for replacement with a new residential college.
  6. Wow, didn’t realize that happened. Someone’s insurance will have to pay for that. I don’t see any scenario that has the new portion opening in September. Maybe Sept. ‘25.
  7. Yes. Those lots include the 1401 Church development (scraped and ready) and the massive Hines development.
  8. Agree. Kirkwood has been and remains the de facto southern boundary of the commercial district. The expansion we’re currently seeing is to the north, as the Ashwood 12S project has bridged the formerly church/residential span between Linden and Ashwood.. I think it’s more likely that’s where we’ll see continued expansion of the commercial corridor along 12th creeping north toward Wedgewood. I’m not sure what zoning changes might need to happen for that. As @Bos2Nashpoints out, the neighborhood is pretty vocal when it comes to commercial projects replacing residential.
  9. Thanks, Mark. Merry Christmas to you, too, and fellow UP’ers!!
  10. Yes, the repaving was welcomed and long overdue. I submitted several Hub posts over the years pleading for repaving that segment. I take full credit lol
  11. I hope that bike lane is part of the project. The protected bike lanes along Davidson ironically end when Davidson enters Shelby Park and become a ”share the road”.
  12. Hope any of you in Hendersonville are staying safe right now. Tornado moving through.
  13. Truly amazing that you do all this, Mark. I know I speak for the board in saying thank you for your dedication to Nashville UP. Your daily updates are the first thing I look at with my coffee every morning!
  14. "Airport leaders have hired a traffic analysis firm to evaluate opportunities to improve the ramp at I-40 exit 216A." A little late to think of that. I still think the elimination of the on-site cell waiting lot is a BIG part of the current congestion problem. I was at the airport picking up and dropping off passengers over Thanksgiving weekend and saw people improvising left and right. Parking on the shoulders of Donelson Pike or just pulling over on the I-40 and Donelson Pike entrance ramps or anywhere they could find, all of which slows down traffic flow. Plus there are people who just circle the interior loop repeatedly until their passenger is ready for pickup. Making the first 30 minutes in short term parking free may help with this - IF there are designated spaces. The garages stay at capacity most of the time. That essentially would turn the short term garages into cell waiting - if MNAA is able to get the message out that it's available. Other than that, I don't know what the answer is. Sounds like MNAA doesn't either.
  15. Rode through the fort this afternoon. Restoration of the stone walls continues. I see Metro has reassigned the Chew Crew from the Cumberland levee greenway to Ft. Negley. They were hard at work on a Sunday afternoon.
  16. So the Arcade will no longer roll down the doors at 7pm?? All these years it’s been a daytime only venue, catering to downtown office workers. That would be an amazing reimagining of the space to have a night time restaurant and entertainment scene.
  17. That was Lower Broad in one shot. Show girls, honky tonks, pawn shop, confederate flag bar, Earnest Tubb’s and Helig Meyer furniture. Standing amidst it all, the venerable Merchant’s building. I started my job working in a downtown law firm 1 year before this. Sort of incredible to look back at how it used to be. We’ve come a long way, baby.
  18. Thanks, Mark. I work next door to this and I’ve been wondering what the project is. Construction started week before last.
