At first, I wasn’t crazy about the “old school” look of the twin residential towers…but now, seeing them amidst the glass towers, I think it’s an amazing, diverse look that gives Nashville Yards some style and classiness. Love it!

Glad to see the Germany flight news. Anyone know our likelihood of landing the Ireland flight? NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — New, non-stop international flights will soon be coming to the Nashville International Airport. A letter from the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority states Nashville has been selected for a non-stop flight to Germany and is a finalist for a flight to Ireland. Discover Airlines reportedly plans to start flying non-stop from Nashville to Frankfurt, Germany three times a week with 270 passengers. https://www.wkrn.com/news/local-news/nashville/new-international-flights-coming-to-nashville-airport/?utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwY2xjawFbaW1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHZMH5FS0l8TRWiSo2rJMhOZogAqi7R7WXKg7Uwf0WwI8SiiwvE3rgRgzKQ_aem_SGB7iVTjHumY2GZU04lUmA

Inner Loop - CBD, Downtown, East Bank, Germantown, Gulch, Rutledge

To slightly change the subject…but not really…I know many don’t particularly like the direction of lower Broadway with one honky tonk after another…and its wild, wild nights. However, I look at it like this: 30 odd years ago, this place was a dump. Deteriorating buildings, empty buildings, nude dance bars, etc. Now, we’re very close to filling in every “missing tooth” empty space with updated or new “historic” looking buildings along Lower Broadway that should last another 100 years. Eventually, times will change and instead of nothing but honky Tonks, these cool old buildings will house some other businesses. I’m just glad to see the buildings being saved and updated…and for Nashville’s downtown to be so lively and for thousands of people moving in and changing that entire area for the better. -

I don’t disagree with you. I do believe Chief’s (Eric Church’s new bar) will see a lot of Eric performing there at times…and I know they’re booking some decent names to perform there…but you’re right, most of these bars are owned by the same people and just using a major star’s name to pull people in. I may be wrong, but I would imagine a lot of these bars have probable never had a live performance from their “namesake." -

Obviously they’re doing what they think will be a good return on their investment…but I AM disappointed there won’t at least be a vinyl record section SOMEWHERE in the shop. Just making it another bar with restaurants and no retail IS sad. They’re not really saving Ernest Tubb’s…just using his sign and name. -
Well…seems it’s not dead yet. Just saw this article that was updated in the last few days. “Storyville’s mission is to boost literacy while engaging children in an immersive, fun and safe environment,” Guerrier tells ESSENCE, sharing that the park has been in development for the last few years and is slated to make an opening date announcement in the next twelve months." https://www.essence.com/news/money-career/delisa-guerrier-storyville-gardens/

I would like to take a moment to touch on the music industry, as it pertains to Nashville. Some of you know that I’ve worked in the Nashville music industry for over 30 years (and have worked with people all around the world because of this industry). Like many, I have a love/hate relationship with the music industry. Coming from the creative side, I’m more into the “music” than the “business”…as the business part oftentimes seems to get in the way of the creative side. I realize many on here hate country music. I get it. I grew up hating it…then I loved it…then I hated it again…then I loved it…etc, etc. Some see country music as a weight around the neck of Nashville…and others see it as our calling card. Personally, I see it as one of the largest genres of music in the US (and growing worldwide)…and coupled with the music industry as a whole and the current (and growing) music infrastructure in Nashville…and of course, the Nashville “Music City” monicker…it’s actually quite a gem for Nashville (not just country music…but all of Nashville’s music). Is the music industry our best money-maker? No…not close. However, it is a major catalyst for promotion of the city…for tourism…for vibe…for uniqueness, etc, etc. It is like the “Neon” welcoming sign. Nothing more…nothing less. Nashville has a lot going for it. Our medical industry is super strong and growing. Our tech industry is growing. Good universities. etc. The music industry is just our added spice to the recipe.

So…you’re basically saying the people who create art in this city and help bring tourists and increased revenue to the city…need to spend more of their own revenue on the art in this city? Gotcha.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the country music stars are BY FAR not the richest people in this city. And…most of the buildings (most, but not all) on Lower Broadway are owned by some rich folks who license the singer’s name to bring in fans. Normally, the singer doesn’t own those bars.

Every time I see the name “Mid-City”, I think about how kids today use the word “Mid” to mean “Average at best.” “He’s so mid.” “His game is mid.” “She looks so mid." Now I’m imagining this development downsizing because of the name.

I’m sure you guys have already talked about this…but was there any chance of Nashville getting that Elon Musk Supercomputer project that Memphis just landed? I actually have no idea what kind of impact it will have on the Memphis economy (hope it’s good for them)…but I’ve already seen people complaining about potential environmental impacts. -
What I’m hoping is that NOW that they’re publicly saying Nashville will be their World HQ, they’ll re-design the campus and make it a truly world-renowned campus with special features unlike anything Nashville has ever seen. Take it up a notch.
