Awesome! Glad this project is underway,  but wish the top of the building had some pizzazz. It looks unfinished at the top. Like they just stopped working on it or something. Oh well, I guess the good news is I'm still beautiful.

I spoke to someone on site and they want to have the crane up by next Wednesday. They are having an issue finding the correct generator for the crane.

Our office received this yesterday: 

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17 - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 23

505 is under construction at the southwest corner of Church Street and 5th Avenue North. Initial construction-related work will include erection of a tower crane. 5th Avenue North from Commerce to Church will be closed from 10 pm on Thursday, December 17 until 2 am on Friday, December 18. Plus, 5th Avenue North from Commerce to Union and Church Street from 4th Avenue North to 6th Avenue North will be closed from 10 pm on Sunday, December 20 until midnight on Wednesday, December 23.

From the camera you can see that the wood has been removed from the concrete base of the crane. I guess it will be going up soon. I can't wait to come home on the 28th. I'm bringing my ex-wife who hasn't been to Nashville since 2000. I think she will be blown away.

Would someone explain why that large "L" shaped concrete pad in the middle of the 505 hole is there... and why it is now filled with concrete?  Also, while on the subject, if you look at the Skyhouse construction cam at the far right side (along Division) where the garage will go, you will see a little square section of dirt that was not dug out.  Anyone know why that was done that way (instead of excavated like the rest of the site)?

"L" shaped pad is likely the base for the elevator shafts, which would have to be below the lowest elevator-serviced level of the garage.

The closure of the four blocks is already creating a mess. I'm a little surprised that word was not spread a little better. Probably the best timing downtown worker wise, all things considered.
