So is this building completely under construction, i.e. did Tony close on the construction loan and we are full steam ahead?

I think he's permitted to build up to street level and will probably have the permits to build above ground level soon.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Looking at the construction cam... I think I see a whole crane segment being moved into place.  Can someone "on the ground" confirm?

I just walked by.  No crane, and like dmillsphoto said, no pad yet.  They were, however, dropping off a couple of truckloads of portable toilets.  You may have been looking at one of the stacks of structural supports for the garage.

Even with its notorious "haircut", that thing will still absolutely dwarf everything around it.

The images in each article show nothing of the rumored slight modification to the top. Anyone know what happened to that?

Yeah...I was hoping for some kind of cap on top...but...nada.

New to the board. I really like this design. It's nothing that jumps out at you, but it's one that will fit in with Nashville's skyline perfectly, imo. My favorite high rise atm is the Pinnacle, but this might just move past it on my list to take that #1 spot.

Welcome to the forum Tim.  Looking forward to more post. Please feel free to show up at the forum meets.

As far as the design goes, I am looking forward to this one. Very cutting edge for Nashville. We are starting to get better designs.

Appreciate the kind words. And yes, I agree, much better designs overall lately. I've went back and viewed this entire thread and noticed it was supposed to be a 700 footer? That would have really set the bar moving forward and would have been awesome to surpass the slightly overrated Batman building. I like Batman, don't get me wrong, but it's way past due time for a new sheriff in town as far as height goes.

I still wonder if there was any change to the top. It is really hard to tell from this rendering. It's almost like it was intentional not to show the top in detail.  Perhaps it was just shown like this to convey the height.

Actually, its first iteration as the Signature Tower was supposed to be the tallest building in the country outside of NYC and Chicago.
