Interesting bit of news from the Tennessean.  Archaeological dig at the new ballpark site unearths artifacts from a thousand years ago.

Also, just wondering how much total will be invested in this project, including the apartments and garage buildings.  If I'm not mistaken, it's $80M for the park and two garages adjacent... and $37M for the apartments along left field.  The apartments in the block between Jackson and Jefferson are $50M (?).  That last one which I understand is the Embrey project is the one I am quite unsure about.

That is yet to be seen. Within about three blocks you will have the Embry project, and the Sounds residential and mixed use project. They have already purchased the land for that. It looks like two buildings for them. The parking garage just south of the project has started. Then across Jefferson is land between 4th & 5th HGHill owns and is planning a mixed use project that may start by the end of the year. The the Meeks project on Jefferson between 2nd & 3rd. The RD Herbert land is not too far away and I know of something else that may happen as well. The total between all of this could be around 300 million.

I'd add the Geist property to that list. Lots going on in this area.

I left that one off and the Peafowl theater project too.

On a related note too, is that Darren Hall the Metro Sheriff is proposing moving all of the jails out of downtown to Antioch. Basically the land value is high and could be used for something else. At some point the North end of the downtown area will take off with some new construction.

Great, I love when Metro takes a giant dump on us.
