  1. Preaching to the choir. Seems no planning document survives the next developer's big idea.
  2. Ate at the 'shroom Sunday night, interior and food the same, but agree the exterior looks nice.
  3. Proposed would be a more accurate word than planned.
  4. Cook Out was the last straw. That's a difficult location and too small to do anything to fix it. The former TGI Friday's at the other end of the block is still vacant, too.
  5. My (equally) uneducated guess is not likely, at least in the foreseeable future.
  6. Not that I am aware; the signage says that it is for residents of the Americana Apartments, and has done so for a long time.
  7. Not buying it; another big splash announcement that'll fizzle. And the grocery? Everybody promises a grocery [Hello Aertson/Buckingham!] but so far, no cigar. Wake me when they start construction.
  8. Not to defend Palmer, but how long has it been, has there been any situation where the current fencing, spraying, etc., has posed a harm to anyone? [There are no neighborhood kids.] Apparently there are no code violations, either building or health, at the site. Metro permitted the excavation twice without imposing any completion requirements. We're stuck with that. The simple truth is that there is nothing that can be done by litigation, legislation, or otherwise to make the hole go away. The only relief will come from development. All other talk is barbershop pontificating.
  9. Construction trailer installed on First Bank branch site at 19th and West End this morning.
  10. Well, I hate those damn trees. They're ugly and they force me to walk too close to the street. Not too fond of that building, either. There, I feel better!
  11. JJs is on the corner of Broadway and Lyle. Article was sloppy in its description. This move, if it occurs, makes sense for the project as the current footprint is too small for what was proposed. My guess is that the original plan assumed aqusition of the JJs location all along.
  12. Not a good sign. Embry probably is the wrong developer - suburban mentality, etc. But, whomever is the developer, why are we still debating who gets the conference rooms? Seems to me that this whole shebang has been half-assed from the start with headlines substituting for plans and details. I'm not optimistic.
  13. Overlays are worthless, the planning commission rolls over anytime a developer wants something different. The only hope is that your council member will oppose the project in the council.
