I was going to try and work on this more this weekend and realize that this is a first effort. This is a rendition of future and under construction towers in the downtown and possible East Bank area.

Recently walked around this area after dinner at Pinewood Social and was so impressed at the Greenway that goes from Rolling Mill Hill into the city by Ascend Amphitheater and under the Korean Memorial Bridge.  Great views and overall is nicely done.

^ ^ ^ That entire 12-acre triangular area in the bottom shot (bordered by the river and I-24 inner belt) will become the Boathouse Park soon, and will essentially continue the river park/walk area coming all the way down from CBD.  Eventually, when PSC Metals and all that other crap on the other side of the Cumberland get moved-out, these views from Rolling Mill Hill will be unparalleled.

Could you please remove photos when responding? It leads to excessive page length and visual clutter.

Demolition has begun on the Lifestyle Communities site in SoBro. Eventually will be 2 buildings of 6 and 10 stories spread over two block with a total of 600 apartments. No renderings have been available yet.

The 1 story industrial buildings at the NW corner of Ash and 3rd Ave. South are starting to come down.

Looking south along 2nd Avenue South from the corner of Ash.  This portion of the site will look directly across 2nd Avenue to the Howard School municipal government complex.

Looking westward along Ash from the corner of 2nd Ave. South. This block and much of the next will be taken up by the complex. The 1 story industrial building to the left of the cell tower is the one coming down.

Smeagolsfree's excellent Development Map shows the shape of the lots for the entire complex.  This will hopefully be the first of at least half a dozen more apartment/condo complexes like this that will completely transfigure this neighborhood in the same way as Germantown and Rolling Mill Hill.

More Grampa war stories....the San Antonio Spurs looked at moving to Nashville once in the early 90's and decided the 'Muni' was not workable. Then when the Broadway Arena was proposed, the New Jersey Devils and New Jersey Nets were ready to move in for a year in the late 90's, but the Devils won the Stanley Cup and pressure was put on the State of New Jersey to improve their arena and keep the teams there.

Wow, Lifestyle Communities sure has a lot of street frontage they're going to be responsible for with that massive new project.  I hope they take that responsibility seriously!  I'm going to be very disgusted if we have blocks upon blocks of blank wall with that project.
