The “civic plaza” portion of the new version is certainly more attractive and inviting (as civic plazas in front of jails go). The structure as a whole is more visually interesting than the old criminal justice center, as well. I think it is definitely an improvement.

This one caught me by surprise: wasn't expecting a tower crane for the 4 story First Baptist Church expansion...but that sure looks like a yellow base.

The 2 story, 18,700 sq. ft. office building that will be part of the Taylor Place development at 602 Taylor St. in Germantown has been granted a $3.2 million permit for construction.  The general contractor is R.C. Matthews.

Bad Axe Throwing, a Canadian-based entertainment venture, will be converting the 1-story, 9,000 sq. ft. low-grade manufacturing structure at 648 Fogg St. into a new club. This is one block from City Winery, Third Man Records, and Tennessee Brew Works in the area known as Pie Town (I prefer LoLa for "Lower Lafayette"). 

The owners, Angela and Thom Dahle, say renovations are already underway to the space, which eventually will offer 15 pairs of throwing lanes, a stage for live music and a rooftop bar and entertainment area with skyline views.

They said their goal is to have the Nashville Bad Axe rank among the largest such facilities in North America and to lure the World Axe Throwing League World Championship (as seen on ESPN2) to Nashville.

^^Looks like they allowed them to paint the concrete on the old part of the building to match the new section, which looks awesome!  Glad they weren't so strict they wouldn't allow any adjustments on the old part.

I know! It looks great! The addition has really started to grow on me more as well.

Does the "Records Storage" sign have historical significance? Just wondering about the reasoning for keeping it as part of the hotel design. I probably missed that in earlier conversation somewhere.

I asked Bos2Nash if the paint was going to come off the building (Moxy) and he said it was going to stay. I think it detracts myself.

And it was a significant problem for all the residents in The Gulch, LoLa (Pie Town) and SoBro.  Train whistles blew all day and all night.  With the closing of that crossing, thousands of people sleep better at night.  That is good for our health, happiness, life expectancy and productivity.

There was supposed to be a 3 story bar/restaraunt called the Blue Parrot built at the old Johnny Cash Museum site on 4th and Molloy.  Building was demo'd and fencing went up months ago, but was removed shortly afterwards.  Anyone know the status of this project?

They have their loan, and I think they have got their building permit recently.
