Was just posting the photo showing the tent area for the ground breaking ceremony.   Not sure when the cranes will start to be assembled, but id imagine they arent far off.   They might scrape down to bedrock and throw some paint down tomorrow for show.

I was searching to see if there was a live construction camera yet for the Four Seasons...and so far, I don't see one.  But then I realized that one of Fox17's live cams is often pointed towards this site...so this will be good to have in case they don't install a construction cam.

A bit more info from today's ground breaking...

The team includes the following:

* SCB, project architect

* HOK, interior design of the luxury residences and amenity spaces

* Marzipan, interior design of the hotel and public spaces

* Barge Design Group, civil engineer and permitting

* Cosentini Associates, MEP engineer

* MKA, structural engineer

* TTL, geotechnical and environmental engineer

* AECOM Hunt general contractor

They are seeking LEED certification on the whole project

I don't think they are going deep. It's likely a mat foundation with piles like they are doing for the Centric Hotel. On a site that big it will likely take that long.

Is it me or I'm missing something, but the Twitter picture rendering looks so different from the Press Release renderings? I'm confused as to how the one with the Four Seasons logo is somehow the same building as the renderings shown from the press?

I think the one with the logo just has the glass "clearer" to be able and see inside...which makes it kinda hard to see the balconies...while the press renders have shaded windows.  Other than that, I think they're pretty much the same.

Notice the vertical accent lighting on the crown of the building as well. May not be Shanghai-class, but hey nice to see one of these project incorporate some lighting on their facade for once.

I'm concerned about the size of that riverboat.  It's too big to turn around safely in the river.  Somebody's going to get hurt.
