This will allow the review engineer to evaluate the resubmittal more efficiently. 2. Add the Grading Permit number (SWGR#2018024071) to the Title Sheet. This number should always be placed in a prominent location on the Title Sheet. This helps to expedite the delivery of plans to the review engineer. 3. Revise project title to be Mass Grading and Infrastructure for 151 1st Avenue South. 4. A copy of the Tennessee Construction General Permit Notice of Coverage must be provided for all sites that disturb one or more acres of land before a grading permit will be issued. Add the NOC note from Vol. 1, App. A-8. Fill out NOC note, add TNR#, and sign. 5. Verify with the Public Works department that the proposed work within Shelby and 2nd Avenue is acceptable. 6. Plan review and grading permit fees need to be paid. Total = $1,373. Erosion Protection & Sediment Control (EPSC) Measures: 7. Provide detail of dewatering arrangement as applicable. Storm Structures and Pipes/Detention: 8. Provide calculations (including Drainage Area Maps and downstream analysis) for proposed storm sewer infrastructure. 9. Please remove General Note 2 from plans and perform investigations necessary to determine if proposed location is feasible. 10. The existing 12” sanitary sewer connection from the west should tie into the existing 12” sanitary sewer main not the 30” RCP storm sewer (see SMH-1). Please revise plans and analyze downstream system to confirm adequate capacity is available.

Profiles should include structures w/ labels, pipe size, material, length, slope, etc. Show all utility crossings and ensure that minimum clearances are being met. 9. Relocate MH-2 to the property line as CB-5 to MH-2 is a private system. 10. A structure should be placed at all changes in slope, direction, or size of storm main. Add additional notes to plans to ensure that 30” RCP that is to be extended within 2nd Avenue is extended at the same slope as existing and that the existing storm main is removed back to the next bell that is in good condition as determined by inspector or install a structure. 11. All public storm mains should be RCP. Place a manhole at the right-of-way for the 12” PVC line that is being extended to SMH-1 and replace with adequately sized RCP. Replace CB-0 to CB-1 with RCP and add additional inlets at CB-0 as necessary to reduce spread to 8’ or less. 12. As needed, make inlets doubles or triples to keep bypass at a minimum and spread under 8 feet total (including gutter). 13. Minimum velocity for storm sewer networks should be 2.5 fps. Please adjust system MH-1 to CB-4 accordingly.

How old are/is the building(s)?  They appear to be very old, but I thought I heard somewhere (here?) that they were built in the 1980s. Were they putting asbestos in buildings as recently as that?

The building is a big mish-mash. Its been modified countless times over the years. There are parts of it that are very old, but the big corner section was built sometime in the 80s after a fire tore through it. At some point it was converted into apartments originally, maybe that's when asbestos came into play.

Nashville now has 40 story Four Seasons, 36 story 5th+Broad Apts., 35 Story Broadwest Apts., 30 story Embassy Suites, 26 story 1200 Broadway Apts., 26 story Alliance Bernstein Offices, 23 story Grand Hyatt,  and 21 +/- stories Gulch Union Office, Broadwest Offices, Drury Plaza, Kinect Apts., and Joseph Hotel. That's 12 buildings at 20+ stories underway.
