horrible photo and all, but the new at+t building's new lighting makes me smile every evening. now with 100% more yule tidings!1496074_10154945675115564_37832395508959

Wow it looks cool but I wonder why all the lights are still not working. You'd think that would have been fixed. And one side is white instead of red.

The lower slope is a stone "mesh" paver material. It will have a fine crushed gravel between the stone pavers, creating a stable surface to walk down and wade, splash and launch kayaks.

Above that is a grassy slope. They've regraded the angle to make a gentler slope for walking, sitting on blankets and general skyline gazing.

This will be very cool.

Thanks!  That sounds really nice.

Is the Cumberland suitable for kayaking?  I've never kayaked...so I wouldn't know.

I've done it. Everyone I know thinks it's disgusting, but they don't know what they are missing. It's a fantastic way to catch a show at riverfront for free. I wouldn't drink out of the river, but then again, we all do everyday.

I would imagine so, people Kayak around NYC.  I have personally Kayaked the Tennessee in downtown Knoxville, and of course the Harpeth around here.  the only non commercialized river I have been on is the Obion near my parents house. it is shallow, and fairly dirty, but relaxing since there is no one else.

Yes, the Cumberland is suitable for kayaking.  It's not whitewater; but you can certainly kayak on it.  Of course, if you go upriver some, you can come sailing with me!

Here's a few shots I took after working near downtown tonight.  Only had my cell phone...so sorry for the quality.  Need to make sure to start bringing my Canon with me more often.

Btw...I think the Pinnacle is missing a golden opportunity to light their crown in different colors.

And poor Batman just can't get it together. I stopped by downtown last night on the way to my parents for the holidays and was surprised at how dim it looks. And I wish they would light the entire top like it used to be. I guess the Christmas red and green lights last week were only for that one night..
