I was pleasantly surprised to notice that the cladding on Amazon 2 is still progressing!  They put in about three of those little windows since the last time I checked!  Of course a blind tortoise could give them a run for their money in a speed test but as long as they're still pecking away at it I'm not complaining!

AEG residential towers.

Not sure if anyone has doubled checked the numbers here but from the upper 10th level to the roof, they will be 420' and 409'. Page 51. I think that is the correct measuring point this city. We seem to always measure to the roof or tallest point. If we did the AT & T building that way, it would be considerably shorter.

From BusinessWire:

Opening in late 2024 in Nashville Yards, EVO Entertainment will feature:

  • A 12-screen luxury dine-in cinema
  • Eight lanes of bowling
  • A scratch kitchen and bar
  • Private event spaces
  • State-of-the-art gaming and attractions, including gravity ropes and advanced virtual reality experiences

This replaces the previously-proposed nine-screen Regal Cinema which was announced early in the Yards project, although it's been clear that the Regal deal was on shaky ground for a long time. Way back in 2018, AEG admitted that their Regal Cinemas announcement had been premature and that they were talking to "other theater operators." (From the Tennessean). Now we know who they were talking to!

I am greatly underwhelmed by this cinema and bowling facility.  Pathetically undersized.  I grew up in an era of 1200 seat theatres and this rendering is IMO laughable to be termed "luxury dining".  Just an oportunity to hawk  a $20 bucket of popcorn IMO.  A bowling alley in my day were 30 to 40 lanes.  This is very similar to the tiny bowling facility tucked into an obscure corner of the gigantic entertainment complex at Harrah's Cherokee Casino.  THOUSANDS of folks gambling, a pittance bowling...sad.  If I had my druthers, this part of NY should have a casino instead.  My two cents.

I actually think that's the trend now... large groups breaking out and "doing things" at different places in close proximity.  For over a decade I've looked at the old movie theaters as a dying business that COVID all-but-killed.  Yes, there are the big blockbuster movies coming out, but they're even diminishing in number and popularity (how many are sequels of sequels?).  Plus, the whole fear of security that many have felt in enclosed areas like that have contributed to declining business.  So this place is trying to reimagine the old ideas that you've proffered.  Maybe it will work. I'm just glad I'm not a big investor in it. I do wish them success.  But hey!  As a "luxury" dine-in theater, they'll probably be serving Orville Redenbacher... huh?
