  1. East Nashville’s historic Ambrose House — arguably the architectural crown jewel of an area of the city known for its many beautiful residential buildings — has sold for $3,197,000 to a New York-based restaurant industry power couple. Even though this isn't in the same area, I'm hoping this can share some mojo with the Rutledge Hill Towers/Culinary District effort... From the Post: https://www.nashvillepost.com/business/development/nyc-restaurateurs-buy-historic-east-nashville-residence/article_b7cbd4c2-03f0-11ef-a221-937b6082a853.html
  2. Point taken. I still believe an announcement like this, if true, could absolutely have downstream impact on developments in the CBD. Said differently, everybody who eventually would work at an Oracle campus wouldn't live in the East Bank (800 Lea could absorb some of that volume). And if an Oracle is coming to town, you could likely expect other ancillary companies to follow which could necessitate a need for more office space (1001 Church and Gulch Central). Not debating as much as clarifying my thoughts.
  3. On the surface, this one does seem to have moved a bit slower. Definitely need to peel back the onion a bit. There have actually been multiple unforeseen delays. Considering the size and heft of this project (compared to the relative simplicity of the one that flew up on 12th), they've moved along well IMO. Also, they announced a first quarter 2024 target finish. So given the delays, they're looking pretty good. I hear you. I'm cutting them a little slack since they didn't start core drilling and busting up concrete until February 2022, four years later. Yates seems to be efficient with their projects. I want to say they did Alcove and Albion Gulch, but don't quote me. I just remember both went up lickety-split!
  4. One of the ways I amuse myself is by dreaming. Here's a dream that beefs up the old CBD by adding two office towers (red) and two residential towers (blue) with heights designed to add both visual variety and appeal to the overall skyline.
  5. Number one, really hope this is true and not some ploy to get more perks from Texas. Number two, if it is true, hope it makes developers and financiers even more bullish on Nashville. Build 800 Lea, 1001 Church, Buckingham Gulch, and Gulch Central immediately!!!!
  6. Many of us cringe at the overuse of this angle. For me, the money shot is from Fern Ave
  7. Yeah, was trying to be positive with my comments on this one. I've stated before that it is NOT a treat to my eyes...
  8. I love seeing new hotels being built., even if this particular one doesn't spur any visual excitement. Each that's built helps me think the average room price has a better chance of coming down. Next visit, I don't want to stay in Smyrna! I want to stay downtown!
  9. I'm thinking the illustrator is confusing 1001 Church (Amazon 3) and Pinnacle, which as we know is both under construction and has a slant. Given that they put it to the left of Batman, it hints at 1010, yet I'm still wondering...
  10. When I see shots like this showing downtown in the distance (from the airport), my mind goes to the rate of ascension on jetliners and I feel even more frustrated by the 750' cap. The average airliner is climbing at about 2-3000' per minute. I get it, safety first. Skyscraper enthusiast musing...
  11. Puts me in the mind of children's building blocks... Why do i have a sudden urge to visit Utah?
  12. I mean no harm or slight by this question. It's purely for my understanding. Why is there a Huntsville Projects string in a forum about Nashville?
  13. Oh trust it wasn't a disparaging comment. I was actually agreeing with the thought and then immediately wnt against myself by getting excited with the Mid City signage. Although I know we are VERY early in the process for that property.
  14. Pictures courtesy of YIMBY New York. Updated renders for 350 Park Ave supertall.62 stories, 1,600' office structure will yield 1.8 million square feet of office space with 54% of that space earmarked for Citadel LLC, a hedge fund.
  15. Shucks, on both sides! C'mon Reed and Mid City as well!
