I drove by again today, the one on the right is indeed sesac.

also, the second crane base that was on its side at Aerston on friday is now vertical in a hole, couldn't see the bottom but it could be actually set up in its actual location.

did some measuring and thinking,

first the only crane I see being taken down in the near future is Gulch Crossings. 

but 3 sites should add a second. 2 properties (Bridgestone and Westin) that have broken ground should get 2 and the virgin hotel would be in this view also, so if that happens this year we could see 17 cranes in this view by years end. if not more,  and just imagine if those 2 hotel/ condo proposals on broadway in midtown happen at the same time.

 

as far as measuring. per google maps a straight line from the Vandy building to the Sobro is 2.13 miles. not one of these cranes is more than 1 block north or south of that line.

I was in Philadelphia last weekend and got to play in the snow, and now my commute home tonight is looking rather interesting here in DC.  Nashville is, as Bna stated, looking pretty balmy at the moment.

You've made a good find!  It just now darned on me.  Looks like a gigantic "Silva-Door" in the center, doesn't it? ("Salva-dor")

some are hard to see so I put boxes around them and they are as follows.

big red crane out in front; Vandy, I assume engineering  building.

from left to right:

far left side:unknown, it is behind Beaman. white

taller white one; Aerston.

very small box; Gulch Crossings, it was facing away so it looks narrow. blue

tall white one; apartments at Music roundabout

Tall blue one; apartments at Musica roundabout, forgot the name

short blue one; Eiken or Capstar Bank?t.

yellow in far distance, SOBRO

white one on far right, not sure but on music row, crescendo maybe?

While our little city is growing up, it will be a long time before we have massive projects that require so many cranes at once. The MCC had 6, plus 2 for the Omni. I look forward to the day we have a project(s) that will need so many cranes

Just FYI guys.

 

I my head I counted almost 40 buildings under construction, or proposed that are 10 stories or taller in Davidson County. That is a huge number for a city our size.

 

Lets just say 100' there about or taller. Not necessarily 10 stories

Also... the World Almanac lists all tall buildings over 500' in North American Cities (you have to have 3, Nashville doesn't make the list). When I first discovered this list, long before the invention of the internets, they used to list all buildings over 250'. And that has always been my standard for calling a building a 'tall building'. We had about 4 back then. Now I estimate there are or soon will be 34.

I just went to Google Earth to look at the building view of Nashville for the first time in a while and was blown away by the improvement. As you can see from this sample of screen caps from a fly around of the L&C Tower, the level of detail is incredible!!!

 

 

When did they do this upgrade? Some cities have it, also (Nashville, Chattanooga, Atlanta...) and some don't (Memphis, Minneapolis, ....).

 

Its like flying in a drone over the city.

Here's a picture of Sylvan Heights from the Centennial Dog Park. There's been a lot of infill there and theres similar construction on the north side of Charlotte too.
