They have a massive impact on Pine street. Who would have guessed 6 years ago we would have a massive canyon on Pine st. and we are getting one on Malloy as well.

 

Here is one I forgot to post. This is the Fairfield Inn and Suites site. Work well under way now.

Thanks so much for the pics, Ron.  They are great for folks like me who don't live in Nash and can't check out the progress so easily. 

 

Question about the Fairfield:  I looked on Google for where it is being built and compared with this photo.  I thought it would replace the storage place, but apprently it Is it taking only the space of something called "Mature Essensuals" (hmmm!).  I can see the back of the storage place on the right of your photo.  So am I correct that the storage place remains open for business... and that weird looking building with the balcony that fronts along Division?

What's with the second Buckingham picture?  The original rendering was full of architectural details, French balconies, bay windows, etc.  The second is a faceless mass of stucco and flat, undetailed windows and looks like a housing project from the 1960s.  This could go from being my favorite project to being a definite non-favorite.

All of the renderings came form the same web page. Not sure what the difference is but this was from the architect site via Littlejon.

 

I do know the height of the project has changed a little witht the residential tower taller and the hotel portion shorter.

Yeah, I noticed that too.  I'm hoping they just kind of half-assed the building rendering on the second one because it appears to be showing the street orientation rather than the building itself.
