Once again, another great pic. Thanks all, and keep 'em coming.

Note: Look at the crane for the Westin, between the Pinnacle and Encore... and it will rise taller than the present height of the boom.  Even with Bridgestone, that should be visible, and probably be a solid "wall" of buildings from Pinnacle (moving leftward), Westin, B'stone, sliver of Encore, SoBro.

I love those walls and canyons of buildings too. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's all done, as well as the rest of Sobro when the other potential hotels like the Holiday Inn, Marriott, Hard Rock Hotel and that green gridiron thing, and the residential buildings like Olmstead and City Lights. It'll be like a whole different Nashville. Or if you're from Louisiana, Narshvull.

I'm not sure if I agree with a complete lack of trees on Broadway, but I do see your point. How about a happy medium between the two? Maybe having trees only to frame major intersections, or trees lining a median that replaces the center turn lane (and provides a much-needed buffer space for crossing pedestrians).

In my opinion, trees wouldn't kill the vibe or remove the grit as much as they would break up said grit in a tasteful way, as well as provide a sense of scale to the streetscape. Take 2nd Avenue for instance--plenty of grit and country vibe, but the trees, brick sidewalks, etc. make it much more pleasant to walk through at the same time.

> Replace the temporary fencing with something more permanent and appropriate (and no, not split-rail, cattle fences or barbed-wire). Something basic and utilitarian would work just fine. The ped barriers used in London would work just fine. See below.

Agree with you on the need for an improved sidewalk situation.    The current sidewalks are not wide enough to handle the crush of crowds on LB these days.   I've tried to navigate those congested sidewalks several times in the last month - both day and night - and it's quite difficult to make your way up the street.    It seems like eliminating on-street parking (as the temp fences do now) and adding another 10 ft. of sidewalk will dramatically improve the situation.    I don't know about adding fences.  Tasteful ones like London do look nice, but look at the low level planters and iron fences that were installed on Church St. during the last renovation.   Many of the iron fences are gone now, victims of drunks and texters driving over them.   On the other hand, if you eliminate on street parking, you do need some physical barrier to separate bar patrons from traffic.        .

And why is there no landscaping on the Bridgestone Plaza, it it just a big concrete pad.

I've wondered this many times.   Look at how the MCC plaza one block down was handled with landscaping and seating.    It makes such a difference.
