That makes sense, I thought about how you can't walk around the Prime location although I see that they've built some sidewalks and maybe they'll be able to open up the traffic lane again.  Traffic in this area is terrible right now because of the work on the Broadway bridge.  It's going to be a long time before the construction is completed in this area, at least three years I would guess, so it's going to be a mess!

Not much new today, still chipping away at the rock on the edges and hauling it away.  It was perfect weather!

It looks like they're going to dig right up to the edge all around the site including the old YMCA building.  That will take awhile to get that completed so I don't expect any foundation work for the time being with all of these trucks coming and going.

Once that rock get broken up, it won’t take too long to clean it out of there. Their getting close now, depending on weather I think maybe another week or so till the site is ready to start building

They've got those two machines chipping away at the rock behind the crane base today and quite a bit of rock has been hauled away since yesterday.  I see that they've extended the protective barrier on the sidewalk facing Church Street and added a bit of fencing on top of part of it.  Almost cool outside today!

They've got three of those machines digging into the rock this afternoon and trucks are being loaded fairly fast.  At this rate I think it's going to be cleared away in a matter of days.  I would imagine that they'll have to reinforce the area around the foundation of the old YMCA building to protect it during construction and they're getting pretty close to it.

From today's walk, three machines digging away at the rock, making good progress.  I noticed that there's a big pile of rebar in that last photo, not sure what it's for, maybe the beginnings of the foundation.

They've dug right up to the edge of the old YMCA building in several spots, I didn't think they'd get that close but I guess since it's solid rock it's very solid.  Great weather for the workers today!

In that News Channel 5 story, Tony mentions that construction will start in November on the 60 story 1010 Church Street tower!

That's a very surprising thing to hear because it seems like foundation work should begin any day now!

A big pile of rock that was there yesterday is now gone and they're filling up a truck with more today!  On the third photo you might be able to make out four markers with red flags in a square shape, I'm wondering if that could be the location for the core.  Total speculation on my part!

Probably going to start with the YMCA first with the tower to follow.

I think they're close to being done with the major digging and rock removal.  So we'll see what happens next!

The corner next to the old YMCA has been cleared and I see there are red markings and flags in place.  I think we're going to see some activity in that area soon!
