The folks behind Layer Cake on 3rd are putting a restaurant there.  They are out of Dallas? I think.  They plan to do 4 concepts here.

I think they pulled a renovation permit for the building. I am trying to remember, but fuzzy right now. Dealing with Covid and just trying to function from hour to hour right now.

It's been 4 years since the 8 story Hilton Tru/Hampton Inn dual brand hotel featuring a combined 214 rooms and 164 capacity garage was announced for 602 9th AVe. South.  The 9 Group is the developer, having paid $6.9 million for the .9 acre site in 2016. MDHA approved initial designs in 2019.

A source with information about the effort said the project is on hold and not shelved.

UGH! just sell to Somera Road and let them do something better with it!

I guess this wouldn't totally eliminate the possibility of a continuation of Fogg Street across 8th though. I would really love to see Old Division Street abandoned from the alley up to 8th and have Fogg bend to meet it in front of Modera Gulch. This could create a great opportunity to align the street grid and create an open, green space along the corridor.

It’s great to see a bunch of residential buildings being proposed with fewer parking spaces than they have units. And virtually all of the listed residential buildings have fewer spaces than bedrooms. That will build a constituency to advocate for better transportation in the core.

Went through and added up the total residential units on the list - the total was just under 12,000.

That's amazing. Our downtown area, like many others, used to feel so empty outside of working hours as all the suburban office workers went home. We're moving quickly towards having a fun and lively downtown where people actually live and relax.

Great Article; however, they didn't mention much about the West End, Church Street area. Every building mentioned was on the eastern side of the 65/40 loop.

Note this is downtown and downtown only. I will bet at some point Robert will do a Midtown list. You have to remember that 45 towers in downtown is a hell of a lot of towers. I think there are about another 34 or so in midtown and if we ever get an accurate list going for the East Bank there will be a goodly number there as well. I know right now we have about 9 or 10 with the RMR group for the EB but we do not have accurate floor counts for any of those yet nor do we have any solid proposals for anything for the Titans village until we have all of that sorted out and approved. 

I think in two years' time we will have a whole new list for the EB.

 I initially wanted to do both but it would have been way to long.  As soon as I get a scoop (new renderings) on Reed or Beaman, I'll do the midtown feature!

I think that is another 34 towers or so, but we do not have all of the renderings for those towers yet like you said. That is a whole new downtown over there. I think there may be an addition or two to the list as well!

BTW I know I told you great job privately but here is a great job publicly!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of items. The Bottled Blond on lower Broad is now under construction. Five stories I think. 

Also all I will say is there will be a major new player coming to town. Have known about this company for a while and is a big time developer but I did not know where. Now I know where but will not say just yet. Details coming in the next week or so.
