Wildhorse Saloon at 120 2nd Ave. North is going to be reimagined/rebuilt as a Luke Combs-themed multi-level entertainment complex to be called Hurricane.

The 69,000-square-foot complex — to offer an indoor/outdoor capacity of nearly 3,200 people — will be “customized to reflect Combs’ passions for music, songwriting, whiskey and sports." Features will  include a 250  seat honky-tonk featuring daily live music, 1,500-person capacity concert venue for ticketed events, a songwriters room, a 3rd floor sports bar,  as well as a proposed 9,000-square-foot rooftop bar with views of the Cumberland River and Nissan Stadium.

The three levels will offer entertainment elements “inspired by Combs’ songs, lifestyle and personal interests.”

A summer 2024 completion is planned, with the Wildhorse Saloon to stay operational during the update.

Wildhorse Saloon originally was opened in the early 90s.  No word on what the new name will be, or costs to Ryman Hospitality will be for the rebrand .

I designed the last addition to the Cathedral back about 40 years ago.  In order to match the existing Crab Orchard stone of the original church, we reopened the old quarry from with the stone came over 100 years ago.  I hope the new addition will do the same.  It should be built with matching stone and period appearence.  No modern crap needed IMO.

Agree would like to see the addition match the beauty of the church building.   There’s an existing building in that foot print.  It’s owned by the church but is separated by a driveway cut through.  The building was a former bank and still contains the old walk in vault.  It’s hard to tell from the renderings if that’s being incorporated or replaced.

And very cool that you worked on the previous addition.  Forgot to say that.

That is correct. I do like that space as a bar, especially one that already has an established name. This is going to hurt Bar Louie, which it should because that place sux

That's funny... one of my classmates at Duke was from Nashville. His father had the first place (flatbreads?) that went into that location. I ate there once... forgettable.
