A unknown portion of the just-approved annual budget for Metro Nashville is slated as partial contribution towards the $48 million to put the 3.4 acre cap over I-40 along Jefferson St.  It will be known as the Jefferson Street Multimodal Cap and Connector.  Additional funding will hopefully come from the Rebuilding America infrastructure grant.

The Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown Hotel ( 27 stories, 482 rooms) has sold for $169.7 million to Dreamscape Companies out of NYC.

More at NBJ here:

Does this mean the hotel will now be rebranded or will it remain under the Sheraton brand?  Hoping it's proximity to Amazon will inject some life into the property's use.  Rebranding it might also help.

The nondescript/non-historical structure at 813 Jefferson St.  is going to be razed as part of a new reinvention of the whole corner by Mapco Express. The most recent business in the small 1 story building was Jefferson Pawn Shop. A $34,000 permit has been issued for the demo by Osage Contractors.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts lot at 801 Monroe St. (on SW corner of Rosa L. Parks Blvd.) has sold for $7.5 million to Stoltz Real Estate Partners.  The store was heavily damaged in the March, 2020 tornado. O'Reilly had bought the lot for $2.4 million just  6 years ago.  No word on Stoltz's plans for the prime site.

For over 2 or 3 decades, maybe longer,  that had been the Nashville branch of the Jasper Engine & Transmission Exchange, based in Jasper, IN.

It having been by no means a "pretty" structure, I frequently passed that once imposing and visibly active business throughout the '60s and '70s.

Ballpark Village (8 stories, 340 units, 16,000 sq. ft. retail, internal garage) is finally moving forward since Portman Holdings closed the deal on the 2.6 acre land purchase for $20 million yesterday.  Dynamik will be the architect; Hawkins Partners is handling landscape architecture and land planning, and Inc. is in charge of interior design.  Plans are to break ground no later than the beginning of 2022.

Each updated rendering of this project gets better.    Taller, too, I think.

Hard to tell, but I'm assuming that is red brick.   The design will look great in this neighborhood.

Did Nashville Sounds ownership purchase the land from the city back ~2015 and essentially do nothing, have the city pay the interest on the bonds instead of real estate taxes from proposed development, then make a killing by selling the land?

if yes, SMH. City got taken for a ride.

Glad this lot is finally getting developed.

That would be a yes. Thank you Karl Dean.
