Goo Goo Chocolate Co. at 116 3rd Ave. South has received an $850,000 permit for City Construction to take on the initial renovation of their space. The eventual price of the upgrade will be $2 million.

A Metro permit pulled Wednesday shows that the building is undergoing interior renovations to the existing restaurant/bar space. That includes adding a mezzanine and two restrooms to the second floor, and upgrading the “bar areas and finishes” for the 17,400-square-foot building.

I will tell you this.... this place is really incredible! I was not on the project team, but my colleagues who worked on this project really enjoyed it and were very fortunate it. There is so much to see (and so much the normal visitor won't see), but I would encourage everyone to go in and check out the space!

Dean Stratouly, head of Congress Group (which is one of the developers behind Four Seasons)  states that they aren't done with Music City.  Besides the 2nd & Peabody project, his company is planning two more high-rise projects that haven't been announced yet.

After being closed for an extended period of time, Church Street Park will be re-opened next week. It appears there is already a schedule of activations for the space, but I will be interested in the whole summer season.

The word will be out soon the the Church St park and homeless nude beach will be back in business soon with free bathrooms across the street and all of the computers and reading materials you need, with churches serving free food on the weekends as a added bonus.

Alta Riverwalk has been granted a $35.8 million permit for the four structure, 304 unit development at 200 Cumberland Bend in MetroCenter.  Wood Partners is the contractor.
