New planters placed on Commerce Street to help delineate bike lanes from car lanes.

Looking NW from Commerce Street at 4th Ave. North:

That may be more of a hazard than a safety feature.  Some raised curbing might have been more effective for cars, pedestrians and cyclists/scooters.

Is there a technical reason the two poles could not have been combined, or is it a lack of coordination?

Thank you.

I'm guessing different ownership... the signals are likely property of Metro public works. The 5G transmitter is likely a private entity.  Seems that technically it's possible to combine them, but as technology changes over time, a combined unit might make updates to the 5G more difficult.

But we're good with the asphalt on concrete patch job or the trashcan obstructing the sidewalk?

They’ll go back and replace the asphalt with concrete. It’s typical for them to use asphalt at first with these installations. The trash can definitely needs to be moved though.

The 1 floor masonry storefront sitting on .34 acre at 523-525 4th Ave. South has sold for a whopping $4.8 million ($320 per sq. ft.). The Higgins Firm (which is currently headquartered there) purchased it 8 years ago for just $360,000.  No word yet on what the buyer (associated with Mark Hauter, a Rutherford County-based real estate investor) has planned....but I'm guessing it is more than just remodeling the 1946-era structure.

This is immediately to the north of the Pizzuti Bros. site for a mid-range height mixed-use structure, and just to the south of a site being held by the 515 Group for future development.

I researched the guy and from all indications he is just a real estate investor. He has family ties to Washington State  it seems. The address of his LLC goes to Merchandise Liquidators in Lavergne.

As far as I can tell the guys dabbles in real estate and is no developer.

so... probably not a 50-story skyscraper then...
