Mortenson, are you listening? We are making your job easy, here.

Thank you! Fun to think about. Nice interstate access. Prior to BNA so last transit stop would still be BNA, to not create confusion. Owned by state since 1945. Zoned industrial with some restrictions, have not dug into what they are. 46 acres. I like it. Now, where did I leave that magic wand…

Is there a location along Murfreesboro that could work? If our transit priority is a line to the airport, why not piggyback on that and create an easy public transit option to an MLB game? To address Mark’s point about convention goers, it might even be a line convention goers are familiar with having taken it upon arrival to town. Such a location/investment might also jump start TOD. It would lack capitol views, but I am in favor of the nodes approach to large capital investment. Spread the love around and the concentrations of people. Allow neighborhoods to grow around the venue. It also prevents the “island” of large structures and gridlock when several events are happening simultaneously. Thoughts?

I predict after this is complete, this will become a beloved project. The neighborhood may not want to admit it, but the community is going to love going to dinner at the restaurant offerings, visiting the coffee shops, many may want to down size their home one day to this development. I think this is a well done project. I appreciate the treatment of the creek behind the property. I like the movement of the curb cut away from the intersection. I hope the conversations will continue for the potential to connect with the greenway. If that connection could be completed, it would be a significant step forward, pun intended. Think of the Lions Head condo and Sylvan Park community who could walk/bike to this location. (insert: chef’s kiss). As the intersection of White Bridge and Harding are reconsidered, I really hope Metro will remove those slip lanes.

I did not realize until I started digging into this topic that cities like Stockholm and Amsterdam, yes, even that bike friendly stereotype of a city, were at one time car centric cities, as well. We should not let our imagination be an obstacle.

I can provided my own anecdotal evidence to the contrary. I drive through there every weekday 7:30-8:00. I see several commuters on bikes, including 4 this morning when it was 30 degrees. There are also daily commuters on bikes on Belmont and on the Music Row corridors. E-bikes have really made a difference, as well, in the number of commuters. Bike lanes are also a better solution for scooter riding. I have never understood why the revenue from scooter permits/fines/etc are not tied to bike lane construction.

I agree with your comments, and would supplement with an additional question. Why were the islands on 31st at West End not extended into the cross walk to allow for a refuge opportunity? They are nearby but still several feet away from the cross walk. What am I missing from a design perspective?

Just prior to the automated system, the fine was $70.

Thanks, Bos2Nash. Agree, it would free up some cash. The plan is for two towers. So, maybe changing one to condos would not be out of the question. But now I’m starting rumors. I was talking with a colleague yesterday and the topic came up. Had to check with my subject matter experts. Thanks!

Y’all, the Ritz is patient. It has been rumored that the Ritz was looking to get into Nashville for decades. At one point, Reba McEntire was rumored to be involved in a development deal with the Ritz. Whether its this deal or another deal, the Ritz is patient until they get the deal that they want.
