^How on Earth is THAT the line they're choosing to draw in the sand for Lower Broadway??!

Historic lost the battle long ago when they started allowing every Tom Dick and Mary to so what they wanted to do with the lower Broad buildings. The light feature was out there from the very start and they are just now raising a stink? Ridiculous!

Memphis people would be pissed.  How about a Nashville Rock museum?  Jason and the Scorchers, Kings of Leon, Paramore, The White Animals, Be Your Own Pet, JEFF the brotherhood, Barefoot Jerry, Teen Idols, etc

A Lucy's Record Shop recreation, Exit/In and The Rock Block history, The End history, etc etc.

328, Blue Sky Court, Next Generation, The Muse, 615 Records
I like where your head is at, though I doubt there is enough interest for others to care about those places.

Thanks for the video.  As you panned to the west, I could see how much 805 Lea and Station District Towers will infill a low spot in the Nashville skyline.  So exciting!

FWIW, 11th Ave. is closed for a while as they work on utilities for the Asurion project. The street is dug up but there is a detour as was stated above. The Greenway has been detoured as well.

This has reopened

Anyone know anything about the Exxon down Broadway from this? Is it currently on the market?

It was under contract to a company out of Texas that had huge holdings in Austin and Dallas. Ii have not heard a peep since then. Site is zoned for 20 and probably bonus height.

Per our conversation at the monthly meeting about hopes of moving the New Years Eve party back to downtown ...

Is it worth destroying the Bicentennial Mall (which is used year-round) for a one-night party?

The lawn at Walk of Fame park is torn up from all of the events held there as well.

The park was absolutely trashed a year ago, too. They seem willing to make the sacrifice for such a big event and did a decent job of repairing the grass afterwards, so I expect this year will see extensive reseeding or resodding in the next few weeks.

Sounds like Metro Parks should invest in interlocking ground cover panels for such events.  The National Park Service uses them on the National Mall in DC when big events are held on the lawns of the mall.  They really do help with protecting the grass and keep attendees from standing in mud should it rain.  They now put them down for Presidential Inaugurations and some of the other regular events held on the mall.
