Inner Loop - CBD, Downtown, East Bank, Germantown, Gulch, Rutledge

One of the things I hope has been taken care of were all the cheesy side walks signs on third. They were blocking the walk and people had to walk into the street to avoid them. I think Metro violated some folks over there for that brainless move.

Once the Harry O's and the Moxy is open, things should get better. But the stink of restaurant trash needs to be addressed. Starting to smell like NoLa in places.

The owner of this space has unused FAR rights that he could sell to another developer who wants to go taller than what is allowed by current zoning.

Would the Transfer of Developable Rights essentially be the same thing?

Along the same lines. I am no expert by any means, but was researching it as a possible option for my architecture thesis.

This is an older building that MUST be preserved simply because  you cant go around and tear all the old stuff down simply because it is a one story building or even a two story building.

I'm saying that they should be doing something like the Hearst Tower in Manhattan. Still street-level preserved, but with amazing height.

Bob Dylan has partnered with Nashville-based Angel's Envy Whiskey, to launch the Heaven's Door brand whiskey. It will be based out of 410 Elm St., the one time church that has been home to Tuck Hilton Architects for years, but will soon be part of a new distillery/entertainment/lodging  complex run by Marc Bushala.

A $14.3 million permit related to the 7 story Hampton Inn & Suites to front Dickerson Pike near the point at which the road intersects with Briley Parkway and Interstate 65 has been issued. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development to be called Skyline Center and to include a Rock ‘n Dough Pizza Co., which are also found in Jackson and Memphis.  A slightly larger rendering from what we've posted previously is below.

This is very big news. This is a major corp. relocation from NYC.

Here is the story. Mark is probably out for a bit. If someone want to keep it here or post somewhere else, that's fine.

I gave Mark the heads up but we did get the AllianceBernstien and it is a Corp. HQ relocation.

I will let someone else post the info somewhere else as they see fit.

Wow, I wonder which office they're going to be located at?

This is Huge news. This may lead to AXA, their parent company possibly moving here.

I would not count on that AXA has a huge office in Charlotte and just announced 550 new jobs last  year here.  AXA North American HQ is in NYC and that likely stays there.

Regarding AllianceBernstein: I agree that 5th &  Broadway makes the best sense since they want to be settled by 2021, and that 26 story tower should be completed in that time frame.  But until we know for sure, I won't place this in that 5th & Broadway thread.

NBJ's take on the story:
