What percent of the building might they take up and will their signage be the main one on it?

This makes me happy for so many reasons.  From the Nashville Post article:

In the memo to his colleagues, [CEO Seth} Bernstein noted Nashville was the “clear winner” of the 30 cities considered. The company considered housing, education, cultural amenities, weather, cost of living, business-friendliness, ability to source talent both locally and nationwide, and diversity/inclusion. He cited Nashville’s manageable commute times and its status as a “magnet city” to which talent is willing to move.

With this relocation, the announcement of the Top golf hotel/residential project, Kennect breaking ground, and the possible positive transit referendum results, this has been quite the last few days for development news. Might be one of the best weeks in Nashville’s development history if the referendum passes.

200k would be nearing 50% of the office space in that tower

Doubt it. Delta and Air France run like 7 flights a day from ATL to CDG, so there’s plenty of one-connection capacity. Especially since delta is upgauging their ATL flights to mostly 757’s in a few months.

And maybe also help land something like Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton? A Four Seasons at Second Avenue site would be walkable to an AB tower at Fifth and Broadway.

Doubt it. Delta and Air France run like 7 flights a day from ATL to CDG, so there’s plenty of one-connection capacity. Especially since delta is upgauging their ATL flights to mostly 757’s in a few months. 

Oh well, I guess I’ll have to be satisfied with a nonstop flight to London. Just booked a trip for August. Can’t wait to board the flight at BNA and then arrive at Heathrow with no change anywhere!

While Delta may be reluctant to fly over their hub, they may not have a choice. If there is an economically viable non-stop market between two cities then someone will fill that void eventually.  If Delta doesn't want to fly it then someone else may swoop in and do it. Nashville is traditionally a domestic-only city, but as it and cities like Austin, New Orleans, and Indianapolis continue to grow there will be more viable point-to-point destination domestically and internationally. That cannot be ignored by the legacies.

Here's an interesting discussion on the AllianceBernstein decision to leave NYC from CNBC. The hosts speak highly of Nashville but also bemoan that diaspora of financial service firms from Manhattan. Moves like this increase Nashville's street cred in the finance world, and as further moves are contemplated you would have to think Nashville will be on everyone's list as a possible destination. More good news with new corporate landings downtown:

PNC Bank has chosen it's Nashville home: the 615 Third Building  (BWSC Building) that was just recently opened.  They will inhabit 6,530 sq. ft. of space initially. Additionally, Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group is leasing 1,590 sq. ft. of space.  With these two new tenants, the building has now filled 75% of it's inventory.

They were really complimentary of Nashville's 'food scene'.  Nashville must be getting quite a reputation in that regard.

Don't over look the growing presence of UBS in Nashville. If not a BNA-CDG eventually, then maybe to another financial hub on the continent.

They used to run them almost exclusively to BNA but we’ve basically maxed out their hub network so they’re just upgauging now. It also could be an attempt to flood the market with seats to fight off Southwest, who will start 5 flights per day (3 daily on weekends) between BNA and ATL in August.

The hosts on FOX News (FOX & Friends?) were passionately positive about the AB move to Nashville this morning. They said many nice things about Nashville and one of the hosts excoriated NYC government and NY state government saying that high taxes, high cost of living, subways that are crappy, and potholes that aren't repaired are causing New Yorkers to move to states like Tenn and Texas.

Oh they love Nashville on that show. Even their commercial break graphic for a musical act coming up (not just C&W) shows the ATT building. They get really down on Gov. Cuomo and Mayor Deblasio.

According to today's regulatory filing, AllianceBernstein says it will bring about 1,050 jobs currently located in New York City to Nashville. AllianceBernstein identified at least eight types of positions that will be based in Nashville, including: finance, IT, operations, legal, government/regulatory compliance, internal auditors, sales and marketing, and "human capital."

The company says it will begin moving those jobs to Nashville later this year, and expects the full transition to take "several years." That number of jobs represents about 30 percent of AllianceBernstein's global workforce of about 3,500 employees.

AB says it will maintain a New York City office that will house its portfolio management, research, trading and private-wealth management businesses.

Nashville was not even on the list of the 30 cities A|B was initially evaluating to to move some back office operations....yet we get that plus the HQ. Incredible!
