Price of scrap metal is way down right now, so they are not getting a lot of money that way.

As far as groundbreaking....To Be Determined, but I think I remember seeing May or June somewhere.

Here is the issue I was talking about.......

From the Post

J.W. Marriott project effort seemingly hits snag

And speaking of Stix and the roundabout … Florida-based Turnberry Associates is trying to finalize the choice of a general contractor for its J.W. Marriott hotel project to be located one block north of the aforementioned traffic circle.

A challenge: Multiple sources tell the Post the Turnberry currently is over budget (a situation that is becoming more commonplace as a labor shortage and the high cost of materials create challenges for Nashville’s construction boom).

A Turnberry spokesman declined to comment.

I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get any of the excitement from yesterday, but a time-lapse of the demolition from the last two weeks or so can be viewed here:

Time-lapsed looks like a nest of diesel-hydraulic arachnids consuming their quary as ground-prey.  Looks the same from the MTA bus passing along 8th Ave, only in slow motion ─ even at 6:30 in the morning.
