I saw that nothing is happening yet with the former Museum of the South building on North College St. Hopefully, demolition will occur soon.

Various First Ward Park photos and when is the library coming down so new construction can rise???  Vacant lots and vacant buildings in this area is bad for business.

I've spent the better portion of the day looking at property reevaluation (YIKES!). I will never understand Daniel Levine; his his never-opened parking garage has a tax bill of $454,000.00. Meanwhile, it just sits and rots. Not a dime of revenue coming in.

Can't believe they got Dan Levine in on this joke with so many shots of him examining the disgrace he erected in 1st ward.  Does the man have no shame about what's sitting there unused?  His legitimacy as a developer is the joke.

I interpreted Levine's appearance as an indication that he potentially financially backs the Charlotte Ledger.

thanks for the photos of the 2 "forgotten" apartments going up in uptown right now.  I think those are the only units under construction within the loop the 7th St project and of course Silver Hills is right outside the loop.

There's also the affordable housing that's started around Tryon and 7th St. The site of the old historic hotel

Crazy 1st Ward urban village has mostly been decades of waiting for development. 

There’s obviously been progress (thanks to government funding of UNCC & the park) and a few parcels sold and developed. But my goodness. Decades and still relatively desolate with a parking garage that has been sitting unfinished for years and even a large grass field. 

East of Brevard feels like it’ll always be an empty, void area. Likely thanks to the city, Levine and “Brooklyn Village” [another decades long wait of land being held up]. 

Wish there was something the city could do. Oh well.

I feel like the only way you could force Levine to do something is slapping a land value tax on the parcel.

A city ordinance that links a developer’s past aesthetic misdeeds to a current request for rezoning.  If you’re a developer responsible for an unresolved blighted  project in the past, and you apply for a rezoning or are in any way affiliated with an applicant for a current rezoning, such rezoning is automatically disqualified from consideration.

Cleveland has also been working on completely renovating the apartments that sit between Caldwell and Davidson.  It's pretty extensive renovations. When they first started i thought it would just be cosmetic cosmetic changes, but i've been impressed with what i've seen so far.

the 8th floor of the elevator core is roof access (for maintenance purposes not fun)
