Anyone out there who knows what the mayor was thinking allowing the concert to go on over the weekend.  He does know that we're in the midst of a pandemic doesn't he?

Those are M88 Armored Recovery Vehicles (think tow trucks for tanks). A lot of National Guard units are engineers and logistics, so there is probably a National Guard battalion somewhere getting new vehicles or being converted to a new mission.

The new Publix in Capital View downtown is very well stocked compared to the tons of empty shelves of the Kroger in Green Hills or the Publix in Belle Meade.

Not sure where to put this, but I wanted to share some cool pieces of Nashville memorabilia that I have. One, is a laser cut Nashville skyline display that I got from Cut Maps, and the other is a replica of the Batman building I got from Replicabuildings.com. The Batman building replica has been on their site for quite some time as you can see with the “BellSouth” name and the TriStar logo. The tips of the spire have to be glued when you receive it and are copper. A quick trip to my local hobby store for some pewter model paint was the perfect solution for matching them with the rest of the tower. As for Cut Maps, they actually specialize in laser cut city maps out of steel and wood. My next purchase is going to be their framed Nashville city map in steel. I hope you all enot!

I ventured there when they opened at 8:00 this morning.  There was a line of people waiting to get in.  I went straight to the toilet paper and there were three packages left.  I took one and only one so the wife and I are stocked for the next two weeks or more.  As you said, the store seemed relatively well stocked though I noted empty shelves in the cold medicine section.

Haha yes. Big fan of the show growing up. It’s considered a 1st season Jeannie bottle because the bottle only had the gold vines and aged wash on it. The first season was shot in black and white, hence the paint scheme of the bottle. When Sydney Sheldon found out the show was getting picked up for a second season, the show was filmed in color and the bottle painted in purple, which is what most people are familiar with. That’s known as the 2-5th season bottle. It’s actually a Jim Beam Christmas decanter from 1964. Sydney Sheldon received one as a gift and thought the bottle would make a wonderful vessel for his upcoming show. Barbers Eden kept on form the show and is know.n to be the only remaining one, I have a 2nd-5th season bottle as well. Here are a few photos.

The 2019 population estimates are now available at census.gov.  As expected, half of Tennessee's population growth has been in the Nashville MSA.  Here are the numbers.

One theory is that in Davidson County many of the new homes are actually rebuilds on previous residential lots---so just "replacing" population on those cases.  In the surrounding countries, nearly all homes/apartments are being built on previously vacant areas--so "new" populace.

Lower property taxes. Perceived/reality of better schools. Availability. Just some guesses on my part

That, and Davidson county’s higher price of housing is causing larger households to be replaced with smaller households. The larger households are likely relocating to the surrounding counties causing their numbers to increase faster.

That 694K has been the pop since 2017.  Davidson is pathetically lax in keeping estimates up-to-date.

Why should they? They just notified everyone that someone is positive for the virus, so everyone should be very vigilant in their hygiene and daily procedures.  Knowing that person's identity won't change anything, other than possible retaliation from other tenants. It's not like they are cooking meth, they simply just got sick. No need to punish them for it.

Sending out a notice like that shouldn't change any behavior they should have already been doing. Just reinforces the need to keep social distance... antiseptic wipes after touching elevator buttons, light switches, door handles, etc....  no face touching...  and keeping those hands washed.  And divulging the person's identity without permission would be a HIPAA violation.
