I was going to try and work on this more this weekend and realize that this is a first effort. This is a rendition of future and under construction towers in the downtown and possible East Bank area.

Beautiful downtown aerial shot from Flytenn.com shot around April of 2015.  Amazing some of the changes in just the past 16 months:

1) SoBro Tower was still at ground level, instead of fully topped-out at 32 stories now.

2) Looks like core drilling is happening at 222 Second Avenue (Hayes Tower).  Now it is at about 7 stories of it's eventual 24.

3) Amazing amount of work was done to finish southern extension of Riverfront Park and Ascend Amphitheater, which were opened just 100 days or so after this was shot.

4) The United Methodist Publishing House and adjoining warehouse were still standing on the lot that is now fully excavated with base work being done on the JW Marriott.

5) The Westin site is still at ground level, as opposed to fully topped-out 27 story structure now.

6) The Goodyear Tire store is still standing on the lot which is now fully excavated with base work being done for the Cambria Suites Hotel.

7) The 1201 Demonbreun Street Eakin lot next to 1212 Condos still looks to be at about ground level, as compared to fully realized 15 stories now.

8) The Element Condos structure looks to be about halfway up, as compared to 19-story finished product now.

9) The Skyhouse and adjoining garage are still at ground level, whereas they are both at full 25-story and 6-story completion at this time.

10) Cadence Apartments just east of Skyhouse are still at ground level instead of 6-story completion now.

11) The Kimpton Hotel in the Aertson project near Vanderbilt appears to only be a few stories, whereas it is now at full height of 17 stories (the rest is tucked behind the Adelcia from this angle).

12) The Morris apartment structure hasn't even broken ground at this stage, but is up to 8 of it's 19 stores currently.

13) Crescent Music Row apartments is still below grade, but is now reached it's 7-story zenith.

14) The Gossett apartments (Pollack Shores) lot still hasn't been excavated.  The structure is now at it's full 6 stories.

15) The HCA Tower in Capitol View is just on the first floor or so, but is now completely topped at 16 stories.

16) The new LifeWay HQ lot is still empty, but now is fully excavated with ground work beginning.

17) The parking garage for First Tennessee Park is on the first level, whereas now it is completed at 4 stories.

18) The Carillon apartments next to the ballpark only has the internal parking structure in place, whereas the full 4-story complex is now nearing completion.

19) Same goes for 909 Flats.

20) The Tennessee State Museum site is still a parking lot, and the northern sheds at Farmer's Market are still standing.  Now the area is fully demo'd and excavated with ground level work starting on the museum.

21) The Climax structure is now down and lot excavated for Dream Hotel replacement on Printers Alley, and the prep work on the back of the Noel/Tribute Hotel addition is now in place.

22) Lake Palmer was about 40 feet deep in this shot.  Now is fully drained.

23) The Olmstead lot had still not been cleared.  Now the excavation, underground garage are done, and work has started on the first of eventual 8 stories.

24) The Bridgestone Tower is now up to about 14 stories but would still not be in view, as is the case with the 505 Tower, which is at about 6 stories currently--as they are both obscured by existing buildings at this stage.  They will both be dominant over their neighbors in this same shot a year from now.

25) In all, I believe there are 15 cranes up currently that were not when this photo was taken.  There are 4 that are now down from 16 months ago.

Really, it's quite amazing when you contemplate the growth of our inner core.

Man, so much in 18 months. SoBro has almost completely changed with all the construction, the baseball stadium has transformed its neighborhood... 

It's going to be amazing to see some side by side shots this time next year. I'd love it if someone with a light aircraft or helo could get a shot from that same perspective in 6 months or a year.

The dark grey is unfinished, the brick parts previously looked exactly the same.

Thanks for the photo update guys, living in Chattanooga I don't make it back "home" often, I haven't been downtown in a couple of years and from the looks of it by the time I actually do I may not recognize it. SoBro looks so different since I was last downtown, add in 222, Bridgestone, JW and the twin tower project and SoBro will look more impressive than the CBD.
