How deep will they dig for this?  Seems way shallow for a skyscraper.  The other two buildings of his were dug way deeper.

They just started blasting and digging a couple weeks ago.

I'd give it a bit more time for the hole to go deeper.

I know we are all impatiently awaiting this steel to rise (I am lol), but these skyscrapers this height and greater, take a bit more time. 

Hoping that once this 750 foot one tops out and finishes, that other developers plan a few in the 600-800 foot range for Nashville, too. (or taller, if they can get approval)

This one won’t have to down as deep. Alcove wasn’t that deep. Prime had to go deep because there were 5 floors of underground parking.

Is it possible that both this project and the Streetlights project could be under construction at the same time? If so, staging is going to be something to watch.

I was thinking the same thing. I bet they will both be rising up at similar times. 

Steel in the sky for the YMCA Tower by late summer this year, and I would imagine this Street Lights development could get underway by late 2023/early 2024 as well.

Love to see that electrical, eyesore type grid gone.

With all this activity going on in that area, I still can’t believe SWVP isn’t changing their plans for 1001 tower ( Amazon 3) and seemingly holding out for futuristic plans for an office deal. That tower should be reconfigured to be a Flagship mixed use development, and construction started as soon as possible. Still think it should be considered as an alternative site for The Ritz, combine both the hotel and all residential into one tall tower of around 60-65 stories and call it a day! With all the new restaurants and retail and entertainment coming there , it’s a winner!

Hyatt's probably got an exclusive as the only hotel in the Nashville Yards development, right?

I like the idea of pivoting to new plans for the Amazon 3 site, but wonder if Grand Hyatt might be able to kill another hotel on the site, same goes for any residential development when another is planned so close and close to starting (hopefully). Sometimes big developments have master agreements in place to limit competition. It may not be the case here, but just wondering.  Oops 3 minutes behind.........

Completely agree with this plan!

The Ritz would be a superb addition to this part of Nashville, and with a taller skyscraper, they could still have views with higher floors--if they took up the taller half of the building. 

The current developers behind the Ritz is probably stalled out. Don't they have until June to get financing, or roughly in that timeframe? 

Anyway, yeah, with the YMCA tower, the Streetlights residential tower and all of the other Giarratana towers and the NY development, this area is red hot and will be the new focal point of activity for downtown. 

This corner  building is a PRIME location and now is the time to get it started and under construction. The delay is starting to become puzzling.

YES. Used to stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago, which had a similar model....being half hotel, half condos. And it was attached to Water Tower Place; a massive and well-executed retail/dining/leisure urban mixed-use complex. Both shown below - white highrise is the Ritz, Water Tower Place in the foreground.

I think it's safe to say that many planned office towers are dead for the near-term and possibly longer. We're so fortunate to be a near 24-hour city w/ a diverse economy and massive tourism/hospitality industry that can keep our downtown vital and relevant. Most of our peer cities don't have pivotable options, I'm sorry to say. Hope other hotel flags are allowed in NY.

A couple of pictures from a different vantage point. Sorry, they were taken through the window. I had not noticed this plot directly behind the parking garage that’s is being graded. Maybe for overflow Y parking when and if enrollment picks back up. Also, not sure what’s happening to the little brick building. Maybe that’s part of the plan for the high rise. Apologies if it’s been discussed before.

The gravel lot is StreetLights, yes. Presumably there is an agreement to have the StreetLights parcel as a lay down yard for 1010. Otherwise I don't see why they would've spent the money on all that gravel. Additionally, StreetLights have their hands full with the residential towers at Amazon and they haven't even subnmited anything to Planning for this parcel so there appears to be time for its use.

I'd imagine the StreetLights lot may be a holding lot for equipment, for the rise of Tony G's tower. 

I could see StreetLights not starting construction until 2025 or so, with an opening date around 2027. Ride out this slower economic patch and give yourself another 4 years for market conditions to get much healthier again, overall.

But with this said, I don't see a big slowdown for Nashville's downtown residential demand either, at least for the next several years.
