Does the fact that they only go to the 40th floor concern anyone? Is this just because all the units  to that level will be for rent apartments ? So they will be builder spec. And units above that are condos, so maybe the buyers will have a choice of materials and configuration? Please don’t tell us it’s being reduced to 40 stories!

It looks like each one of those charts makes up about twenty stories so I'm wondering if there's a third grouping of the top twenty floors that he didn't happen to have a copy of.  I sure hope that's all it is, I would be seriously depressed if this project was being reduced and I know I wouldn't be the only one!  I'm feeling pretty confident that we're going to see all 60 floors but only time will tell!

  The very word “finish out” should signify the floors that are predesigned.  The remaining are probably customized buildouts.  Does that sound accurate?

All of the floors above 40 are condo floors, so those are probably a different spec. This is all just the apartment and parking section.

For awhile there I was thinking the State GOP banned Tony from building above 40 stories because it would cause kids to strain their necks when looking up ...

I had the same question. Tony has the Prime, Alcove, 1010, 800 Lea(maybe) and the king drive 33 story. That's alot for one company to manage.

901 MLK should start before the end of the year. That one is being self-financed by Tony.

Keep your eyes open for something else too.

Not sure when any other projects will start like the one on the Round-about because of the uncertainty of the Ritz-Carlton.

The 901 MLK is such a sleek looking building. Love the slender shape, and at 370 feet, just the right height for that location, imo.

I'd like to see him build a 500 footer in midtown.

I was thinking the same, looks to be only two or three underground parking levels. Not thinking it should be much deeper then this picture.

The plans show the lowest parking floor going down to 31 feet below platform way, which shouldn't be too much lower than the surface elevation of lower 10th Ave. I'd post a pic but it seems like UP is having a hard time right now.

The blasted hole appears to be roughly a square and may be the base of the elevator pit.    Agree the renderings don't appear to go much lower.

As far as the section of the Y is concerned…I think it just has to be deep enough for a basement level swimming pool. No parking over there for the Y.

Also, the floors above 40 have all had their finish out permits applied for, just not issued yet.

I would imagine that the orange space that is 3 parking levels high is the pool location.  One requires a high ceiling even if the pool only has a low board.

I'm guessing it's directly below the words "apartment amenities" on the left side of the diagram at the very top.  I can't imagine they're going to stick the pool in some basement, it'll be out in the sunshine like every other pool in town.

I think the pool in question is the one for the Y, not the residential tower. Seems I recall the only pool in the old Y was a rather large indoor pool, probably Olympic sized. And it was indoors, for use year round. Exercise pool, not resort pool.

Was thinking the same. Unfortunately for people who used the old pool for lap swimming, the plans I've seen show that the new one will have 4 fewer lanes; and I did not see a second pool for aerobics classes. The old building also had a non-lap pool on the roof. I enjoyed the old lap pool because it had windows on two sides with lots of natural light. If the new one is in the basement, that won't be the case.

Oops, I'll just blame that on my old age!  One thing that's confusing though is the diagram seems to be showing the little bit for the YMCA on the far right with the main building in the middle.  I had been thinking that the main part of the building was going to be right on that corner so am I wrong about that too?

Yeah, the corner of Church and YMCA Way will be the Y.  The new section of the Y is fairly shallow though. When the Y is done I’m sure it will look nice, but overall I think we are loosing amenities. It’s disappointing on that front. I know lots of long time regulars that have moved on to other Ys (or other gyms). I guess time will tell if they come back…
