Is this an isolated stretch, or is this part of larger (long needed) upgrade on the sidewalks on lower Broadway?

I believe that the funding for the improvements for the rest of Broadway was included in this last years Capital Spending Plan.

H.G. Hill Realty will finally be developing the full 3.58 acre block at 416 Jefferson St. with $93.5 million 5th & Jefferson mixed-use project. It will include a 4 story structure with 110,000 sq. ft. of office space, 42,000 sq. ft. of retail (no word on if a grocery will be part as is the case with nearly all their developments around town), some 3 story residential including 9 townhomes along Madison St., and 568 parking space within an internal garage. There will also be new, wider sidewalks with grass strips and trees on all 4 sides.  

Hastings is the architect. Groundbreaking May, 2022, with 4th quarter of 2023 finish planned.  All in all, this is a very handsome addition serving as a gateway into Germantown.

This is great. Going to fill in a gaping hole along Jefferson Street the materials look superb.

Thor's Hammer Properties LLC has purchased the structure where their Bad Axe Throwing business is located at 648 Fogg St. for $4.8 million.  The previous owners had bought the property in 2005 for $385,000.  The new owners are thinking of adding another dining/bar option to the basement that faces outward towards the north...possibly a brewery/taproom with an outdoor patio space.

There really SHOULD be a true Love button.

btw, I never even got my question answered definitively concerning the sudden inability to see the identities of others' who reacted to my posts/comments, and of course, they can't see my reactions.  It seems that U-P is taking a dump, so to speak ─ that or it's hemorrhaging through the 'roids..   I would've thought by now these quirks would have been resolved.

This was actually a very cool presentation I attended back in 2019 (I think) where I believe EOA assisted the NCDC partnership with VU Engineering on the possibilities of building on top of the bus station. If I recall correctly, the structure was designed with a certain number of stories above the buss station for future expansion but it has never occurred. Was great to see the engineering students a little outside their comfort zone with the design aspect of the structure, but seeing what they came up with was really quite impressive.

Several nondescript/non-historic 1 story structures are on the lot that include Quiznos, Blue Nile Cafe, and Leaf 'n' Brew.  This has become a hotel district, with no fewer than 11 hotels in operation within 2 blocks, and several more being planned.

That's kind of sad.  This spot was a great spot for a quick/cheap lunch.  That place was PACKED with construction workers when these hotels were going up.  But no property is safe to the Nashville growth!

I would think with the new proposals/projects happening along Peabody and KVB now (along with the height that is now obviously available in that area), everything west of 3rd will be getting pretty pricey and highly sought-after.

One of the biggest signals of the immense amount of change that area has undergone in the last 10 years is just how tiny the Hampton Inn is now. Not very long ago that was something of a landmark building...not architecturally, but a sign of life in the neighborhood and a rather substantial building considering its then-neighbors. Now you have to squint to see it. The parking decks of the surrounding buildings is bigger than it is!
