True but they've already "won" on some level delaying those projects for so long as costs and rates have exploded. Hope they are forced to pay a lot of damages!

Yep pretty in line with what Jacksonville is paying for reno. I think it was going to be really hard to get a roof on Nissan's configuration. If you're already spending that much it's kind of stupid not to create a stadium ideal for Super Bowls, Final Fours, etc. without a roof.

That's right. They want the insurance a covered stadium provides. And of course for basketball you simply must have covered. Also for all the alleged success of Taylor Swift's amazing rain show you had people huddled shoulder to shoulder unable to move for hours in the concourses which resulted in several medical emergencies. And don't forget about the great Garth Brooks rainout a few years ago. Some people were stuck unable to get a ride out of downtown almost all night after rain cancelled the concert.

Fairgrounds Speedway Racetrack expansion to 30,000 seats
DDIG replied to markhollin's topic in Nashville
I'm not a big NASCAR or racing guy, but that race track is an eye sore and it is in the charter to stay as voted on by the people. It needs to be upgraded and probably the most effective way to do that is bringing a NASCAR race revenue back. I'd go atleast once to experience.- 457 replies

Actually 2nd reading is the one that is usually the real make it or break it vote. If it gets through on 2nd then 3rd is usually a formality.

Vertis is always a favorite anecdote. If you listened to Green Hills residents it was going to be the end of Green Hills and implode the entire neighborhood. Now they eat at True Food Kitchen everyday and that intersection is 1000 times better.

You may not like the SPORTSBALL but losing an NFL franchise is a major blow to a city. It stings for a long time and it would suck.

Worth noting Rutledge has no affiliation with Four Seasons other than buying space in the same building from the developer.- 1,920 replies

As I mentioned earlier in thread, smaller more amenitized stadiums is the future (unless you're somewhere giant like LA). People have been lost to the quality and attainability of big TVs and 4k broadcasts.

People have a difficult time compartmentalizing things. You're going to spend a billion dollars on a stadium? Why can't you spend a billion dollars on affordable housing? On sidewalks or teachers? They can't grasp why its completely unrelated.
