Agreed.  Perhaps I'm overreacting, but I worry that a relocation like this really just helps only to reinforce certain false negative stereotypes many still have of Nashville.  And this really isn't, in my opinion, about traditional left vs. right politics.  I don't think Parler necessarily "represents" a side.  It's more about what Parler's expressed purpose for existing is, which is, essentially, not to be a place for people to go to discuss tax codes or immigration policy, or whatever, (i.e. the realm of traditional politics,) but to be a place where extremists can go to discuss dangerous conspiracy theories that other social media platforms don't want to associate themselves with.  That is the supposed "freedom" they claim to represent, and I'm disappointed that Nashville will be associated with it in some way.  But anyway, what's done is done now, I guess.  Yay jobs?

Thank you for posting news about a company relocating to Nashville. It was informative and void of opinion. Also, I see nothing wrong with EVERYONE expressing their opinion in a respectful way.... unless it's super funny; then I really don't care if it's respectful or not. Since y'all liked the old photo of the area at the location of the Horizon ball field, I thought this would be a really good photo to show newer folks  the massive changes since I was a teenager in the heart of the core.  The first is looking up 4th Avenue N. from Church Street.  This was taken in about 1960 before the Maxwell House Hotel burned  Christmas Eve 1961.  The lovely old First American Bank you see beyond the sign  was sacrificed with the 6 city block "urban renewal" demolition in the  1970s.  I would prefer to still have it rather than the POS they built back.  The 3 buildings in the second photo enlargement are still there, but have suffered "improvements".  The large building with the Liquors signage was demolished for a Wells Fargo building with an open plaza in front.  It was converted to the Bobby Boutique Hotel some years ago.  The turreted Southern Turf building thankfully is still there and is restored. Likewise the next group of buildings had their facades lovingly dismantled and restored as part of the the Dream Hotel.  the 6 story Climax Saloon was taken down entirely and rebuilt and the old Utopia was gutted and restored as part of the new hotel.  It is interesting to see the room windows of the Noel Hotel all had window air conditioning units as central air conditioning was still a decade away.  I hope y'all like these vignettes of the city as I remember it 60 years or so ago; I have quite a few others to post.

The sad thing is that the activity on the streets is amazing!  The First National Bank building was an architectural gem. When I first glanced at your pics (scrolling down) I thought it was a street scene from Europe (I rarely see the thread headings before clicking).  It's such a shame that those buildings couldn't have been saved and maybe the 'renewal' would have been facilitated by the city/county to help companies by vacant or distressed properties to put up their skyscrapers. I realize that all happened more than 50 years ago and skyscrapers were a status symbol for all cities, not to mention residents were fleeing the urban cores.  So with the benefit of hindsight, I think it would have been a huge asset to have the 'old' area and the 'new' area.

Ironically, the "urban revival" made the area less "urban".

Y'all may already know some of this, but here is the update.

Ordinance BL2021-911, carried by Councilmember O'Connell, passed unanimously last week on its second reading.  The ordinance provides a path for Metro to regulate these vehicles and would temporarily ban open containers in unenclosed vehicles.  The ordinance is the first of a multi-step process with an end goal of stipulating route/hour parameters and creating a reasonable path for operators to serve alcohol.
 
We anticipate counter efforts to amend the ordinance in Metro Council on 10/19.  Any such amendment would mitigate the bill’s original intent.  It is critical that councilmembers hear from you this week supporting the ordinance as it is currently written.  Your voice is very important as people who live, work and invest in downtown.  You can find the contact information for your Metro Council member at Nashville.gov.

Now is the time to let your voice be heard, regardless of where you live in Davidson county.  Let's roll!

Industrial rental rates have reached a record high in Nashville. Within the sector, the average triple-net asking lease rate in Q3 was $6.16 per square foot — a 12-percent increase year-over-year, according to CBRE broker Steve Preston.

Additionally, more than 7.6 million square feet of industrial product (warehouse, manufacturing and flex space) has already been added to the Nashville market in 2021, an all-time record high for the market, according to CBRE’s research team.

My opinion is they should put up a wroght iron fence around the park and open the gates from dawn/dusk or some point after dark. They need to finish the trompe l'oeil painting now... the presumed whimsy of an unfinished work of art has grown stale. Plus, I think it'd be nice to have booths for a farmers market or crafts open on weekends like a bazaar.  Just my take.

 I know it's English, that's why I asked in the plainest English possible so the question could be understood by anyone.

Again, how is a fight inside of a sports arena between two fans of opposing sports teams the result of "rowdiness" on Broadway?

And if Broadway is as rowdy as you are bellowing, then how come there are so many men who are not "rowdy", older people , and younger women enjoying Broadway? Logic says those people would avoid a place like that like the plague. Also why would there be so many luxury high end hotels opening to cater to the people who go there? Are you saying their business model is to market to "rowdy" people? 

What is belligerent about asking for evidence of your declarative statement? Is this another one of those attempts to make up some infraction to escape having to backup a declarative statement by calling on moderators for a rescue?
