Great news for Markley St. area and the West End.

I hadn't heard of any plans for Markley Street streetscaping, although this sounds somewhat less intense than the existing Main Street streetscaping.

Anyone heard of other uses involved?

Always great to see old warehouses reused! I'll be interesting in finding out more about this Academy-to-Main connection. I'll also be interested in see how they plan to physically connect these buildings.

When I posted the GSA article, I didn't even notice the project had it's own website.

I know they're working with what is there, and that is great, but I wish they could bring two of the buildings up to the sidewalk with minor additions facing Markley. I look forward to their DPC application to see how exactly they plan to landscape the site and manage vehicular circulation to minimize pedestrian impacts at the sidewalk. Overall, the addition of "cool" office space will be great!

From reading their website it looks like the building that OOBE will occupy a little less than half of will be renovated first. I wonder if the other two are only to follow if tenants step up to fill the space?

Is some of this land the same land that was to be used for Markley Place (I think that is what it was called) or was the land directly in front of this, or maybe it was across the street, the land for that? Is that still owned by the developer just waiting for the market to turn?

This property changed hands a few months back, and is now announcing renovation plans.

This, combined with Markley Terrace, is a very nice addition to that far stretch of the West End. Hopefully this will help Markley Place at some point? The corner of N.Markley and Rhett could use some help to round that area out.

Seems developers have taken note that Rhett Street is a great place to focus some energy towards lately. A lot of projects proposed/planned on that street.

More apartments proposed for Rhett Street.

It would be cool if someone could put all the apartment proposals on a map with number of units, stories, etc. Lots of proposals. Even if only half are built, it's impressive.
