  1. Groundbreaking in mid-late July this year according to update I received today.

    The West End

Just another reason why the city needs to build a parking garage in the West End. Not sure what the hold up is with building one. The empty site next to the McClaren would be perfect for it. Parking is already an issue and this is going to make it even worse especially with the loss of free parking at County Square.
  3. There are 8 types of projects, which cover the entire county: Repaving (1,400 projects, 542 miles) for $400 million Intersection Improvements (37 projects) for $136 million Roadway safety (18 projects) for $117 million Congestion relief (15 projects) for $192 million Bridges and stormwater (39 projects) for $43 million Pavement preservation for $40 million Road safety enhancements for $40 million Transportation-related drainage for $40 million More info including the full list: https://www.foxcarolina.com/2024/04/23/greenville-co-penny-tax-commission-releases-list-potential-road-projects/
  4. Agreed. I remember when I was told about the utility work happening years ago on this site and it never came to fruition. Fool me once…
  5. Improvements coming to River Street and Poinsett Highway: https://www.postandcourier.com/greenville/news/bike-lanes-downtown-greenville-sc-poinsett-highway/article_6f872138-0109-11ef-b148-f7c800333e35.html
  6. The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced in conjunction with Bon Secours Wellness Arena that the two partners have agreed to extend the team’s lease for five years: https://swamprabbits.com/news/2024/04/swamp-rabbits-and-bon-secours-wellness-arena-extend-lease
  7. Another story on this: https://gsabusiness.com/construction-prep-begins-on-18m-downtown-greenville-luxury-condo-development/ $18 million. STM Acquisition and Development is the lead developer. General contractors are Triangle and Rache. Core design for the project was completed by Parks/Player Architecture + Planners. Harding Autopark Systems has the contract for the parking system. Structural engineering is being provided by Fuller Group. CES is providing mechanical engineering. BlueWater Civil Design is in charge of civil engineering. Marchant Co is doing the residential unit sales and Collett is doing the retail leasing.
  8. Just like Frontier also. Sad. I found it funny how GSP tried to make it sound like Silver wasn’t leaving when they actually were. lol. Talking about how the airport was going to have eight airlines after Breeze announced when in reality it was always only going to be seven.
  9. Back on topic: Backhoe on site and demolition of homes has started. Some of them I guess couldn’t be moved due to asbestos. Art studio is now closed and everything has been moved out to prepare for demolition also.
  10. Watch all of these delayed projects start construction between now and November. Must be an election year. My drone is going to be so happy. And you all will be happy because I won’t be negative like that Furman guy anymore.
  11. Seems like a lot of downtown area projects are slated to start construction this Summer including Woven, 319 Rhett, Kimpton, Poe Mill, and now this. We shall see: https://www.postandcourier.com/greenville/business/the-avant-condos-greenville-west-end-historic-district-delay/article_0abd3552-fccd-11ee-8f18-ef33a0f0c37a.html#tncms-source=latest_posts The project, which was first introduced in 2006, is now expected to move forward this summer when work on utility systems commences. A spokesperson for the project estimates it will be completed in 2026. Updates on the project's status weren't widely available until April 19, 2024, when The Avant responded to a Post and Courier inquiry saying they would soon start "construction preparation." "Though construction costs have risen, causing some initial delays, the practice of value engineering has allowed the team to optimize structural components of the project," Anna Champion, a spokesperson for The Avant, said in an emailed statement.
  12. Well, a building permit worth almost $11 million has been issued for this so yay? Dorothy Dowe was right to vote no.
  13. Those tower cranes must be wearing a Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak then because I don’t see them.
  14. Yep. Tearing down beautiful decades old Oak trees and replacing them with twigs. Can’t get any new fast food options either. Sad.
  15. Word on the street is that this is the hotel brand: https://www.hilton.com/en/brands/tempo-by-hilton/ Good article on it: https://thepointsguy.com/news/tempo-by-hilton-lifestyle-hotel/#
