Correct, @MLBrumby. This is a wall mockup. this highlights the materials (or other custom items such as lighting) used on the exterior of the building to do a number of things. 1) it helps the design team communicate a realistic look of the materials chosen (beyond a nice render), 2) It allows material representatives be on site to teach the contractor how to install either a new product or maybe a complicated project. 3) Intricate detailing (like integrating lighting into a facade) can be tested out to ensure the contractor is aware of design intent and understand what the final product is supposed to look like.

These mockups are essential, but unfortunately cost money and considered un-sustainable. While the information is very valuable, many times the mockups are trashed at the end of construction. Also, depending on the project, a mock up could be very very expensive (I've had a contractor mention a $1 million mockup before).

Do you know what building?  I thought the project was all glass

Two new renderings revealed today with some slight visual refinements (no major changes):

I am presuming it is predominantly the base of the building below Church Street. Looking at the latest renderings the "stacked boxes" above Church will be glass, but the spaces below Church will have a similar language as the storefronts further south on 12th Ave where milk and honey is

Heck...I'll go buy a piece of land if they'll drop it off for me when they're done with it...and I'll live in it! :P

Man, Nashville is tearing it up with these Blue Glass towers. And I love it! It's just beautiful.  Some comments earlier in this thread pointed out how this campus will be better for team work compared to a tower. In a tower, such as Nashville Amazon 1, you'd have smaller floor plates for each level, and would have to punch the elevator to zoom to another another level (or steps, gah).   But with expansive, wider floor plates, it's much easier for everyone to interact. This is going to be the hottest office campus in downtown, bar none.
