Well... sure! That's what Mayor Cooper wants, isn't it?

Ya know, sometimes I get the feeling that that really is what he wants... to turn back the clock fifty years to a time when Nashville wasn't cluttered with so many pesky buildings, where growth was slow if not stagnant and there were fifty parking spots per resident... no flashy lights... no tech jobs... and the only thing people thought about around the country when they heard the name "Nashville" was a bunch of backward looking, small thinking yokels who liked stock car racing.  lol

Me too... but I think he's so self-centered he doesn't care what happens as long as he can keep his contingent of dedicated voters. I haven't seen evidence that he has a vision for the city's future... and he is not acting like a leader who would bridge the various factions of the city... business, neighborhoods, fairground crowd, soccer supporters, etc. So the only group he seems to be talking to are people who actually want to return Nashville back to the 1970s/1990s. I remember it during that time, and it seemed (often) that Nashville's growth was just stuck in a rut.  That's where I fear his term(s) will be truly detrimental to Nashville with longlasting effect. I fault him (and his predecessors) for not being able to find creative ways to help pay for infrastructure improvements beyond downtown with all the boom that's happened. What are impact fees in Metro? What does the city do to require NES improve their shoddy-azz power grid? Will the fools in City Hall be 'surprised' yet again when property taxes are challenged and their assessments are readjusted downward?  I mean, does anyone there have a clue as to how to monetize the boom?
