North Gulch Gateway, (Tennessean site) Phase II: Gulch Central (41 story residential/hotel, 28 story office, 6 story mixed-use); Phase I: Asurion HQ (10 & 11 stories)

Asurion update. Hole is at final depth on north end (around 25 feet).  More pillars being placed. Still digging on south end.

This may have been answered elsewhere in this thread...but just wondering if the Assurion building(s) goes all the way from Church to Broadway....or is that more slender slice of land closer to Broadway open for a different development?  The only reason I ask is that it doesn't look like they're digging on that section...but maybe that comes later?

As far as I know it stops about Porter street. I am not sure what plans if any there are for the rest of that land.

Is the land between Porter and Broadway large enough for another structure...or will it have to be some type of open space / park?

Yes, as it is about the same size as the lot they want to do the hotel between Broadway and Demonbreun.  It would be a thin building but could be done.

Asurion update.  Floor of garage starting to be poured on NE corner. Pillars being placed all the way to western edge of north end now. Still digging on south end.

Apparently they will be getting a stop light for the connection to church street. Maybe one on 11th too.

Apparently blasting has been halted on the site and remaining excavation will be done with drill and hammer work. Blasting caused the CSX tracks to drop a certain depth that has been deemed unacceptable so blasting is all done here.

Progress has really slowed down on the south side with blasting being halted and chisels being used.

Lots of progress on garage though. Ramp to bottom level taking shape.

The building at Porter St and 11 Ave N is under demo.

Using those fantastic-as-always aerials, I spotted 3 other pieces of the Tennessean property that I haven't heard plans for (and also had forgotten exactly how massive the Tennessean physical footprint is/was).

Are these pieces of other ongoing developments?

1. The green was an employee parking lot.

2. The purple also had been part of employee gated parking but doesn't seem logical to be part of Asurion's plan.

3. The red is existing Tennessean warehouse space on the other side of Broadway (it connects to the 1100 Broadway building underneath Broadway). That seems like it would require some very cautious demo because of the way it abutts the Exxon lot and one of the M-Street restaurants.

i heard M street bought the red and are moving the 11th house concept there.

Jim Caden bought the area in red . Who knows what will happen with the area in purple. I have heard no plans for the area in green as Highwoods owns the two parcels on the corner.
