So with news today of the Grand Hyatt, where does Centric fall in their branding order?

Not sure, but its just the hotel as far as I know.

Permit has been applied for to allow for foundation work.  Michael Hayes of C.B. Ragland (the developer) says it will be a 20-22 month construction timetable.  A final rendering should be released later this week.

I would have thought they were getting Malloy straightened out first.  It still juts inwards towards this property.

From one of the massing diagrams floating out there, it appears to be slightly shorter than the Encore apartment building. IDK how tall Drury is, but it will sit a bit higher at KVB. This building may well be covered in shadows all day long after the property immediately south (other side of Molloy Street) gets developed. Well, I guess it will pick up some morning sun.

The old Listening Room is still there. Empty.

MDHA Design Review Committee will hopefully approve the designs for the Hyatt Centric at tomorrow's (Jan. 14th) meeting.  Renderings finally released.

It looks nice, and I am glad to finally have an update on this one. That said, I'm a little scared of how that garage treatment will turn out in reality. I appreciate the attempt at masking it ( *ahem* West End Hyatt House) but the sort of asymmetrical dividing of the panels is really reminiscent of 222 next door, and I fear a similar result where the patterns of the garage and tower facade end up clashing.

This will block my view of 222’s garage, and for that I am thankful. I also like the use of Aluminum paneling vs the entire building being concrete. Overal, decent design, and much better than the surface lot that is there.

MDHA approves the exterior materials today. A late spring start is planned by developer Michael Hayes.
