Ballpark Village (7 stories,  about 300 units, ground level retail, internal garage) update:  All garbage, underbrush, and equipment has been cleated from the 2.6 acre site.

Proximity Townhomes (3 stories, 60 units) is underway at the NW corner of West Trinity Lane and Old Matthews Rd.  Originally, this was going to be part of the North Lights project, which is currently u.c. just to the north.   Red Deal Homes out of Chicago bought the 4.25 acre parcel from the North Lights group last September for $2.3 million.

not to sound like a broken record, but so many trees cut down... is it legal in Tennessee to force developers to fund a program that plants trees if they cut them down? I realize Nashville is growing and housing has to be built somewhere, but the long term effects of all these trees being cut down has to take its toll at some point.

Just found the answer on another string.  Someone referenced a Google Earth tool that shows 5/3 substantially under the listed height.  My world can once again spin on its axis.

This is a bummer: Woolworth on 5th restaurant is permanently closing, and the space is now for lease.  This had become a favorite to bring visitors for the food and history of the place (where the very first civil rights sit-ins in the country occurred).   It has not been open since the pandemic started last Spring. Hopefully someone new will get the vision to reopen with the same them and decor.

Ok, Just be clear, these are not solid proposals yet so lets not start any new treads. Downtownresident was doing his usual snooping and found a document below showing a 26 story residential building and a 16 story office building in the lot that is bound by Demonbreun, 11th,12th, and Laurel. The office building would have been 432,200 SQ FT at 16 stories

The residential building would have been  26 stories with 260 units

These would sit atop a 6 story parking structure as I understand it.

WW did reach out to Market Street officials and the story is they are trying to lock into the old water sewer rates.  They did say we would  find information on two other parcels  and I did find those and they are as follows:

1100 Demonbreun which I consider the parking lot at the NW corner of 12th & Demonbreun.

1211 Laurel.

1100 Demonbreun which is now on the map as 12th & Demonbreun North is listed to have around 236 units, probably residential, height unknown. Since that is on a corner the height I think can be up to 30. but I am unsure because of all of the variables involved. 

1211 Laurel has already expired and that would have been for what I think would have been residential with around 236 units. Height Unknown.

NOW, with all of this being said the dates on these documents were 2019 and since then we have had Covid.  I do believe this is the strategy of many of these companies to get in on the old water rates as they went up substantially. 

This does give us a clue as to what types and heights of buildings MS has planned. Interestingly the lot on the east side of Terrazzo was not included, so that may be the last lot that gets developed.

Alta Riverwalk will be the name of the Wood Partners' 6 acre MetroCenter residential development at 200 Cumberland Bend that will feature 4 buildings of unknown height with 304 units.  The Metro Medical Supply warehouse will be razed to make way next week. Project should be finished by spring of 2022.

Alta Riverwalk's buildings will each  have its own courtyard and grilling areas. Amenities will including a saltwater pool, a club room, rooftop entertainment space overlooking the Cumberland River, indoor and outdoor fitness spaces, a bike sharing program and a golf training facility and putting green as well as dog parks and dog washing area.
