One only needs to do business with one and then the other to know BoA is no longer needed. Anyone visited a BoA branch anywhere in the city and not had to stand in line? I'm a Pinnacle convert after almost 30 years with BoA and their predecessors. I can't imagine who they consider their customers these days.

The banking industry is changing rapidly, away from the granite-tower, button-down, concentrated employers they have been to a far-flung, distributed, tech-driven model.  There's been so much consolidation in the industry, it's just an ego thing anymore to say largest. But being in a family of bankers myself, they feel like they've had targets on them in recent years. So banking is trending to a lower profile, with marketing geared to good corporate citizenship.

I've been with Bank of America for ages and have been considering going to another bank with Pinnacle being at/near the top of the list. You're dead on about the having to stand in line bit. It's not often that I have to go to a branch, but when I do I've had to stand in line every single time.

I had been with both BofA and Wells Fargo for 20+ years but now I’m solely with Pinnacle and can’t recommend them enough. It’s a great bank and it’s in our town. That’s good enough for me.

The announcement of the ONE22ONE on Broadway and 13th, as well as the new Nashville Yards height adjustments got me to thinking about "waves" of buildings that folks will encounter when getting off of the inner belt at both Broadway and Demonbreun exits and heading east:

First wave:  Facing the freeway will be 1200 Broadway (27 stories), ONE22ONE (27 stories), Hotel Broadway (16 stories), Gulch Union Office Tower (20 stories),  Gulch Union Residential (28 stories), Gulch Union Hotel (16 stories) 1201 Demonbruen (15 stories),  1212 Condos (23 stories).

Second Wave: Flank Hotel (20 stories),  Highwoods Development (probably at least three 25+ story towers),  Exxon site (probably two 25+ story towers), Eleventh House Hotel (10 stories), W Hotel (16 stories), Thompson Hotel (12 stories)

Third Wave:  Amazon Towers (two in 25 story range), 1001 Church St. (40 stories),  200 10th Ave. North (20+ stories),  Nashville Yards Residential (18 stories), Grand Hyatt (23 stories),  Station District Shed Buildings (two 15 story range),  Station District Towers 1-4 (four in  32-34 story range)

Fourth Wave:  Nashville Yards fifth office tower (25 stories), AEG Hotel (18 stories),  AEG Tower #2 (18 stories),  Nashville Yards Apt. Tower #2 (10 stories), HRI Tower (24 stories), Station District Demonbreun (at least two 10+ story towers)

Fifth Wave:  JW Marriott (34 stories), JW Marriott Tower Two (30+ stories),  Cambria Suites (19 stories), Curio Hotel (19 stories) , Embassy Suites (30 stories), The Westin 27 stories), 805 Lea (30 stories).

The properties from 701-719 Ewing Ave. in Pie Town (I much prefer LoLa for "Lower Lafayette") are going to be developed Natchez Group and Fresh Hospitaity into an unknown retail/restaurant package.  The two existing buildings (once home to Drury's photo supply and CMS Uniforms) will be connected by a new structure. No renderings or diagrams available yet. Ragan Smith & Assoc. will do the engineering.  The site is bordered by City Winery on the north and TEnnessee Brew Works on the south.   At one tie it was rumored that a Brooklyn Bowl may be part of the new development.

I think it is important to no have skyscrapers everywhere throughout our downtown. I am glad this site is getting redeveloped, though into a better use.

Accent Cumberland (two 4 story buildings, 282 apartments) has started on 7.9 acres at 541 Great Circle Rd. in MetroCenter. Westplan Investors Group is the developer and Poole & Poole is the archistecture firm.  No renderings yet.

UBS Tower sells for $135 million to Shorenstein Properties of San Francisco.  The 29 story, 634,000 sq. ft. building sold for just $14.5 million 6 years ago.
