Below are some pics of the sister Food Hall in Plano, Texas (Dallas suburb) that give an idea of what the interior of 5th & Broadway's Food Hall may look like. 

Restaurants already announced for the food hall include Edley’s Bar-B-Que, Hattie Jane’s Creamery, Prince's Hot Chicken, The Pharmacy Burger, Von Elrod's Beer Hall & Kitchen and The Donut + Dog. It's also set to include two concepts from Seed Hospitality, which owns The Green Pheasant and Two Ten Jack.

I really like the black accent in the window walls. Adds a nice texture to the building and breaks up the facade from another boring glass box.

One of my favorite things about the facade on the apartment building is how both the dark and light accents individually stand out depending on the lighting/angle.

This project is probably the best project in all of Nashville. In my opinion beats out Nashville Yards. Beautiful all around.

The last rebar is going up for the utility screen and men can be seen working on it in the top photo.  The other shot shows steel beams have been erected on the office tower

It looks like they decided to add balconies and wrap them around the building(retail portion) but pretty close to the rendering.

I really like the balcony addition.  Those balconies are going to make this feel even more lively and human-scaled as experienced from the pedestrian street/plaza. It should extend the “feel” of Broadway into this area.

It's faster to erect (cf. courthouse). The reason they used concrete for the car hole is to facilitate building the ramps.

Steel provides more efficient floorplates for office tenants (less columns than concrete superstructure because steel beams can span farther).

As reported on Urban Planet Nashville pearlier this week, the apartment tower at 5th & Broadway has officially topped out.

The 34 story structure will be called The Place at Fifth + Broadway, and is 415' tall. It is now the tallest apartment building in the state. It should be open in early spring of next year.

Of the 386 units, there will be options as ranging from 500-square-foot studios to penthouses at more than 2,000 square feet. 

The amenities spaces will span a collective roughly 17,000 square feet and will be highlighted by a swimming pool overlooking Broadway. Work-out facilities, a recording studio and multiple lounge and co-working spaces will be part of the mix.

Dennis Georgatos, executive vice president and general manager at Skanska USA, said that to reach the topping out milestone, Skanska logged more than 1.7 million work hours to date and used 90,000 cubic yards of concrete and 12.8 million pounds of rebar. Throughout the process, the team has recycled 7.6 million pounds of steel and 160,000 pounds of copper.

I spoke with someone at the Cool Springs Apple store last weekend and they (of course) have heard nothing about any Apple Store officially opening downtown.  But what she could tell me, with great certainty, is that the Cool Spring Apple store will shut down when their lease is up if they open a store downtown.  

I don't know why Apple would do that.  The Cool Springs store is always VERY busy and I just don't see a lot of people wanting to go downtown to buy a phone case or take some of those Apple classes.  Maybe that's just me.
