I found it interesting that an article sponsered by Fidelity Investments and written by MSNBC which is found here named Greenville SC the fifth best place to retire in the nation and now we will have the very first Fidelity in SC going into Marriot at Main. Just sayin. How much you wanna bet those other cities have high profile Fidelity locations.

The article is neither very well written, nor very flattering. It continually refers to Greenville as "a town." I have never heard anyone say, "Greenville Town" before. :dontknow: Also, there are a number of grammatical errors there. It doesn't seem very professionally done.

Good to see these green initiatives in the development....60 solar panels on the roof for hot water, a first for any domestic Marriott and the largest commercial application of solar in South Carolina.

That's awesome, I just found an article about it too and was coming here to post it. You beat me! Really, though...more new developments (and old ones too) need to start doing stuff like this.

There is a Bill currently in the State House that would increase the tax credits for solar on commercial projects from $35,000 to $2.5million and also increases tax credits for incorporating solar into residential. This would be in line with NC and it would probably result in a lot more solar being incorporated into comemrcial projects in SC. The bill is being sponsored by Rep. Loftis. Contact your state representative to support the bill.

There are officially photos floating around out there of the interior of Nantucket. Haven't seen them, but heard. Think you can track them down citylife?

A few interior photos here: http://www.trianglec...rch10/index.htm I believe the pics with the red carpet, stained pillars/windows, tanned painted walls, etc are of Nantucket.

Noticed this weekend they were playing around with the uplighting on this building. Really is going to make impact at night.:thumbsup:

Lighting on buildings is something Greenville does better than most other cities. Riverplace really pops at night due to the lighting on several of those buildings. The same can be said for Poinsett Plaza. Glad to hear that the Courtyard will join them.

Nantucket Seafood Grill officially opens for business tomorrow. smile.gif You can find more information on the restaurant at these two websites: http://www.nantucketseafoodgrill.com/ and http://www.opentable.com/nantucket-seafood-grill

I really think this will be a winner. Rick Erwin obviously knows his way around the restaurant business, and that knowledge and experience combined with Greenville's lack of a really great upscale seafood restaurant means WIN. Super excited to try Nantucket!

I don't think the red carpeted area is part of Nantucket, but rather the hotel portion. Could be wrong though.

I was wrong. :)

Where did you hear the opening date? I hope to write a review later this week, if they will indeed be open for business. :)

WYFF had a news story on the restaurant during their evening broadcast and they said April 14th was opening day. smile.gif You can also get reservations from opentable beginning April 14th for the restaurant too which would confirm their story.

The waterfall/fountain was operating on Friday evening while I was dining at Nantucket Seafood Grill. The restaurant will have patio seating after the plaza is complete. :)

Are the sidewalks and the plaza open? I'm excited to get the opportunity to experience this space, and walk down a new, more urban Broad Street! ;)

Everything in the plaza itself is pretty much finished. The landscaping, lighting, waterwall, and brick work are all complete. However, it's still not open due to the stairwell and sidewalk next to it not being finished yet. It looks like it should be complete and opened within the next week or two.

The new hotel opens tomorrow. News article here: http://www.gsabusine...en-friday?rss=0 and photo gallery here: http://www.greenvill...Params=Itemnr=1 Everything is pretty much finished except for some landscaping left to do. smile.gif The plaza area looks EXCELLENT. I love the chairs and tables they have put out on the plaza that fronts the hotel portion next to the fountain. thumbsup.gif
