^ That is a neat angle, RT.

I drove by the site this weekend, and could not believe how much progress has been made since I saw it last (it had been a while). You can really tell that they have been working hard on this. The impact this will have on Main Street is obvious, but the added density on Broad Street all the way to Laurens Street will be quite evident as well.

What a great project! :)

No construction pics/updates in a month and a half? What's up wit that? :)

:silly: Well, progress is continuing! The hotel portion is being closed in right now, and the office portion is undergoing less dramatic progress seeing how it's already mostly bricked up.

The Greenville Journal reported in their business rumor section that some announcements about this project would be coming out later this summer. Hopefully these announcements will be in the way of office tenants and more retail commitments. Right now, we do know that Rick Erwin is opening a seafood restaurant on the first floor.

Didn't take my camera downtown last night to see Josh Roberts & the Hinges because it was raining...will see what I can do this evening, if my daughter wants to go see the USF's rendition of "the Reign of King Edvvard III."

I really like the contrast this building's architecture provides to the historic brick buildings which surround it. It is a nice representation of Greenville's status as a New South city. We've come a long way!

By the way, that area of the city looks quite dense when viewed from Academy.

Definitely! I'm waiting for the day when we can say the same thing about the view from Church Street...

Can you imagine the killer view of downtown that the "Reedy Sqaure" or new visitor's center will have?

I was talking to someone this weekend who is associated with the Courtyard / Main@Broad project. I had not realized this Courtyard will be in the new revised Courtyard format (the format in which Marriott attempted to copy Starwood's Aloft). I think this will be the first new format Courtyard in SC.......plasma's everywhere, communal table in the food area, plug and play, airline check-in from the lobby, contemporary (chill bar feel) lobby, etc, etc. Should be a good thing.

From Marriott's website, play the video for the look and feel of the latest Courtyards.....a far cry from the days of brass rails and hunter green walls!

This is all really great stuff. I was not aware that this hotel would be the new Courtyard style either. Excellent.

I was in Greenville this past weekend, and definitely noticed the progress they have made over the last couple of months. This is looking good!
