CONSTRUCTION THREAD: Pinnacle on Main

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. You can always trust a guy in a bow tie. We're just too impatient at times, methinks. This thing will come to fruition...eventually. At least we have the Peacock to watch unfold until then.

Anyone else notice that Elford street was closed this morning and a large truck mounted crane was positioned on site? Is this thing finally going to happen?

I am not in town, but I assume that perhaps they could have been raising the real tower crane using the one on the truck.

Traffic Alert: Elford Street between Church Street and Main Street will be closed beginning sometime this week in preparation for construction to begin on the Pinnacle on Main project. Detour signs and road closing signs were going up earlier today when I drove by around 4:30pm. The crane wasn't there though and the road was opened. However, this road closing is NOT a one day thing, because the detour signs are bolted onto light poles and onto metal poles that go into the ground. This is a road closing that will last several months to more than a year.

I am not in town, but I assume that perhaps they could have been raising the real tower crane using the one on the truck.

There will have to be some preparation before the main tower crane goes up. It takes a boom truck/crane to erect the main tower crane. Its a big deal putting the "tower" crane up.

So, what has come of this latest potential activity on the Pinnacle site? Anything to report?

The road closing and detour signs that were put up earlier this week have been taken down and it is all quiet on the site. I have a better chance of winning the lottery AND getting struck by lightning than seeing this thing get built.
