walked by the site today and yes the connector street is closed.  Looked like a truck up at the Cabaret club pulling stuff out.

All of the Preferred Parking is now fenced in. Looks like Uptown Cab is clearing out and then they should be fencing that in soon too.

Since that building is so small, I suspect they can raze it in a day.

its a 1930 building, it's mean and it's gonna put up a fight. Its also held together with stripper sweat, thongs and other substances.

That’s interesting.  It looks like a building ftom the 1980s.  I always assumed that it wasn’t very old.

I bet if you are in the Latta Arcade, you can find what it was originally on one of the old photos.

Sadly I do not. Memory sometimes fails. This means it was an unremarkable property as I was familiar with the intersection long ago and had weekday breakfasts many times at Issie Pittle's cafe across the street at the now 1100 S Tryon. Issie=Isaac or Isaiah, do not recall which. 

Consultation with a city directory or such would give answers. Deeds on Polaris from 1997 indicate owner of some part was family of Key Realty, a long time family company. Deeper dive is for someone not me.

Well shoot, I found a 1931 entry in the City Directory. This building began its life as "PURE FOOD GROCERY, Quality and Servroe, 108 E Morehead, Tel 3-2178—"

If anyone is looking for a gently used urinal for their home swing by Uptown Cabaret before all of these lying in the grass get snatched up.

I'm guessing the answer is no, but if Riverside were to see much stronger demand than they were anticipating is there any chance that they would/ would be able to bring the office tower back up to 42 stories? I know beggars cant be choosers but I hate how boxy the final design looks compared to the initial renderings.

Has the area of land that the Cabaret sits on been fenced off?  My next trip will be for the Panthers-Jets pre-season game.
