im shocked they didn't opt for the giga parking deck to take over the block...

i still think it's pretty cool NC has 2 cities on this list, even though raleigh is in the sufficiency category.

"Riverfront Park-ing Lot" - Reminds me of how Atlanta built some of their parks along the Chattahoochee and now they have signs in all the parks saying "warning! high theft area"

Crazy seeing that brick underneath. When was this building constructed again? -
This is very true though, Altard State tends to market towards devout Christians so it's not for everyone but it's still a win for retail.

I'm guessing this has a drive-thru in the back?

;( I had a feeling you would say that. Thanks though

This still doesn't fix the REST of charlotte though. Why doesn't 85 or the rest of 77 south have HOV lanes?

Do we think that these power lines bordering the site will be buried? I can't imagine them staying there. -
Legacy Union (former Charlotte Observer redevelopment)

From a distance, I love this project, it adds bulk and grandiosity in some sense to the skyline because of duke's imposing buildings behind it. But driving past here the other day, it is absolutely pitiful how fast you can whiz by without even knowing that you drove by this development or what it even stands for. I don't understand why it would take so long to add retail when ally has added... how many businesses?, to its street scape. Maybe they are just trying to finish up the entire project but it still doesn't make sense to create a wasteland of office space with no ground level retail. Especially when this is almost(feels like) a decade long project? Does anyone have an idea as to why they would hold off on leasing? because I know the businesses would flood in if they allowed it. -
Development Projects Outside of Downtown Durham

It has the only Nordstrom, and a couple other unique stores in the triangle so of course it draw lots of customers from Wake county and surrounding. It's also probably the nicest mall in the triangle in my opinion. -

It doesn't help Wilmore is squeezing in from the other side too but it's more likely to give in to development. and you're right South end looks like a constrained hourglass of development right now

https://www.fox46.com/crime-and-public-safety/two-people-stabbed-following-alleged-road-rage-incident-in-plaza-midwood/ "Two people were stabbed following an alleged road rage incident in the Plaza Midwood area Thursday afternoon, according to multiple witnesses. They say a car almost ran over two people walking in the area as it ‘whipped down the road.’ When people yelled at the driver to slow down, that driver came back out and stabbed someone. After the initial stabbing, another person stabbed the suspect." Talk about pedestrian shaming...
